He is and isn't the same person he used to be, and both of those things are okay. I can't blame him for feeling bitter about what he had to go through, but some personality features shine too bright to snuff out completely. And he wears his heart on his sleeve, so it's hard not to see the hidden layers sometimes.

And you. It's kind of incredible how secure you seem with yourself while simultaneously standing by him through thick and thin. Anyone else would probably be questioning what he'd see in them, right? But you two get along so naturally, and probably have for gods know how many thousands of years. I only wish we had met sooner, seriously.
