🧙 WHO: Horus & Walter
⚔️️ WHAT: Horus B&Es into Walter's house to cook him dinner
🕒 WHEN: Walter's birthday
🗺️ WHERE: Walter and CG's home
⚠️ WARNINGS: idk yet we'll see
[ To Horus, a year is a year, even if one does not physically age during it. For gods, not aging is standard past a certain point. Horus himself will likely not change too much from the form he is in now, save for perhaps firming up his muscles or gaining a more mature look in his eyes. The idea that Walter does not age because time is frozen and no one ages in Avalon is nonsense to Horus, and thus he is intent on celebrating Walter's birthday.
After all, humans only have so many of them, and Walter has revealed that he does not have much experience with spices to Horus, leading him to firmly believe the boy has been deprived and a proper meal is a good gift. Even if cooking is not Horus's most prominent forté, he did grow up in a home without the luxuries of the royal palace that was his birthright, with two women who were just as royal as he was but did, so he has at least some idea of the basics. The gift of Flavor is a good one, and Walter will be more experienced for it. And Horus spent a good while practicing making this meal to perfection so that it would be up to the butler's standards in terms of quality. A flavorful spiced lentil stew and roasted partridge that he hunted himself crusted in a different set of spices to give Walter a wider variety of flavor, bread-cake soaked in wine and honey, and homemade beer of the ancient Egyptian recipe-- hqt, with a flavor developed of barley, pistachio, rose petal, cumin, coriander, and sesame. He doesn't know that Walter will want to drink it, but he can at least taste it, surely! As well as a platter of figs, a bowl of honey, and a goat's cheese (though he can't find anything exactly similar to the cheese they made in his time, he still likes it). It's mostly things that Horus likes from his homeland or close enough to it that he wants to share with Walter.
So much so that he does sneak into his home while he's out to make it, so his entire kitchen smells of spices whenever he gets back. :) (And if Chang Geng came in, he surely said hello and explained and invited him to taste.) ]

Pausing at the whiff of aromatic herbs, Walter, curious, resumes his approach with a measure of caution. Someone not Chang Geng is cooking in their house. Who could it be?
Bearing a backpack carrying his giant, yet-unhatched egg, Walter treads the last few steps to the front door, quietly turning the handle and opening it just a bit to peer inside.
And what a curious sight he beholds! A god, busy engaging in culinary craft. Distantly, he remembers Horus talking about a plan to this extent... yet seeing it in action seems utterly surreal.
Still, there's no point in just standing there. The identity of the cook confirmed as someone familiar, Walter opens the door wider, stepping inside.]
