[It isn’t unusual to see Thanatos not looking terribly pleased about being on these missions. To tell the truth he would have rather stayed back for this one, but he has to make sure that a certain Prince of Hades is kept on a leash when it comes to his apparent sympathies for the Fisher King and he doesn’t trust a single other person (except perhaps Hypnos… maybe) to actually be able to handle Zagreus effectively.
He will pick the prince up and sling him over his shoulder to keep him from doing anything stupid if he has to.
And really, he doesn’t mind keeping other people from doing stupid things as well, since he’s currently in a mind for it. Which is why, should someone happen to venture just a little too close to those seahorses pulling the rafts along, they might find a large hand lightly placed on their shoulder belonging to a very tall, broad-chested Greek god who is having none of anyone’s misbehaviour on this trip.]
Don’t.
[Does no one know what ‘don’t touch the seahorses’ means?]
ii. The Sting of Time
Blood and Darkness, where did Zagreus run off to already?
[The young prince has some quick feet on him when he has a mind and Thanatos was not able to keep an eye on him quite as well as he would have liked to. His exasperated question would be clearly audible to anyone in the station not long after they disembark the rafts, though at least there is really only one direction he could have gone in…
Still, this is really something he could do without.
On the way through the tunnels he quickly picks up the sound of… something. A whirring, whining sound that reminds him of the insects he would sometimes hear on the surface, but certainly louder.]
Do you hear that? [He mutters, his voice echoing slightly against the tunnel walls.] What does that sound like to you?
