Quest - Scary Sea Shanties

[ A chance to go out to sea? Of course he's gonna jump on that, strange dangerous lurkings aside. Even after all the new things he'd seen, heard, felt, and tasted - the sea was the one that captivated his attention the most. It unsettled and excited him, stroked his curiosity and sense of adventure - one he thought long dead along with his childish imagination. So with eagerness beating in his chest and butterflies in his stomach he boarded the ship with the intent of hunting down the cause of all these disappearances.

Things were not smooth sailing though and Noah quickly learned that along with beauty and splendor, the sea was merciless and tumultuous, and he was quickly hanging on the railing with a bout of seasickness. ]

Oh bloody hell....I'm gonna hurl...

[ That he did, several times, though once they'd gotten through the tide and out to sea - or as much sea as sailors would have in this land - Noah was feeling much better and was walking about the deck to take in the sea air and work his sea legs. ]

Tiktok Challenge

....I have no idea what any of these things are. Do you?

[ He says while scrolling through is phone, showing the list to his familiar lounging next to him that just meowed lazily. ]

Right. Course not. Bloody hell, I think I may have bitten of more than I can chew...

[ He never quite understood social media, it was a lot of nonsense, fake news, rumors, and shallow people doing shallow things - and that was on a good day. This time he thought, why not, it seemed fun and he had some time to kill. He did not however, realize that there's a consequence for not finding the items on time - so now he's giving this thing more thought than before. ]

Well, it says "cat-ear" so I'm guessin' it's got something to do with a cat, aye?

[ He looks again to the familiar who yawned and rested her head. Yeah he's so doomed. ]

The Journey There

[ 'Do not touch the seahorses' is a simple instruction that anyone should be able to follow.

Almost.

Sitting in the boat, now also soaked for obviously talking shit - most likely a result of the act of doing the exact opposite of what was advised which resulted in a silver haired girl in Noah's clothing with an annoyed expression sitting in the middle of the boat and muttering angrily to herself. ]

Good job, LeClair. Don't touch the strange looking creature, and what did you do? You went and did the complete opposite. You touched. The bloody. Animal. Then it spat up on you so - ! That's brilliant. Absolutely stellar. Are you an idiot? Yes. Yes! You! Are! You are~~ You are a right numpty and you deserve everything that's happening to you!

[ He buries his face in his hands, groaning loudly before noticing his shirt had come undone again and once more buttoning up....and finding the concept of clothes suddenly very uncomfortable. ]

Oh for goodness sake!! Why are - ?!! Why?!

The Sting of Time - Exploring

[ This place never failed to impress as Noah walked in, jaw slack and eyes wide open to take in the sight of the Bermuda Station.

His eyes were glued to the sight of the underwater world, a childlike wonder on his now softer facial features as he smile and chuckles at each passing creature and new and curious sea plant. ]

Makers breath...

[ He continues to wander in circles, even stopping to watch the frozen memories change to fragments of his world that he looks upon with fondness and a touch of melancholy - most especially at the sight of a large but shabby looking church with a play ground in the back full of kids playing and laughing even if frozen in time. ]

The Sting of Time - Fight

[ Noah is right in the thick of it, dodging and striking back at the timosquitos that had chased him across the station, and while backup is appreciated, he also making much of an effort to really stop attracting the attention of other large insects in the area. Probably just a way to distract himself from his...earlier mishap.

Making use of his syphon magic as a boost to physical strength, Noah jumped and dashed about and punting the insects about and finishing them off with either a blast of magic to the face or a powerful knife thrust in the back. Once done, he's patting himself down, unaware that there were a few more bugs heading to him. ]

Right. That was a good workout, and I feel a lot better. What next?

[ He says looking around....except for right behind him. ]

[ She leans in to peek over his shoulder. Where did she come from? Somewhere, probably, but she'd wandered over at the sound of his voice, and now she's amused. ]

They make headphones with cat ears attached to them. --Plastic, so don't worry, no actual cats were harmed in the process.

[ She's always wanted a set! She's considered it now and then in this Camelot! But she hasn't gotten one yet. ]

[He moved over when he spotted someone throwing up.]

Do you need some help?

[Guess who else got squirted at by an offended seahorse... Hijikata doesn't recognise Noah, but he doesn't like how transfixed the teenage girl seems to be by the time shards.]

Hey! You better have your ring on!

[If Noah turns around he'll see a very portly woman with low twin braids in a far too tight uniform. Sadly Hijikata consumes way too much mayonnaise for his female form's metabolism to burn at the same rate as the male one...]

[ He reflexively twitched in surprise when her voice cut across his thoughts. Where did she even come from??? ]

Well, thank goodness for that then. I was afraid this list was gonna get morbid really quickly.

[ He sighed with relief, he certainly did not want to have to chase a cat down to take its ears. Poor thing. ]

So, and I'm just hoping here, do you have any idea where I can get one of these?

[ He looks over his shoulder and looks just as ill as he sounds, pale around his cheeks and eyes a little sunken in. ]

Aye, that'd be appreciated. M-Maybe something sweet to eat, like candy if you have any.

[ There's a sharp squeal when the scolding comes. ]

S-S-Sorry! I am! I am!

[ Seeing the woman, Noah was immediately hit with an odd sense - one that tells him he knows who this is. Or at least, should know. ]

I wasn't touchin' it or anythin'. Just starin'.

Nope.

[ Well. That's not entirely true. She leans out of his personal space bubble, pulling out her own phone. ]

But something like that... I bet if we checked out an electronics shop, we'd find something. Or maybe you can put one together?

[ Putting one together. He hadn't considered that and while thinking about it he looked towards his familiar. As usual, the creature seems to have a sense for his thoughts and she roused from her nap and looked right at him to kill any idea he may have had involving her or a single strand of fur on her. ]

Ummm, I think looking for one would be faster.

[ And safer. He doesn't want to get pummeled by an irate leopard again. ]

Electronics stores, aye? Shall we?

Let's do it!

[ She hops up, offering a hand to help him to his feet. ]

Fair warning, they don't really look that much like cat ears... but they're probably as close as metal and plastic will get, without any special covering.

Too much sugar is bad for your health.

[He says it very gently but firmly. He also reaches out to touch your shoulder. Not long after his hand begins to glow. Sea sickness isn't actually an illness but healing magic can help a little.]

[He honestly is getting the same feeling as Noah... he's seen that silver hair and those bright blue eyes before, he's sure.]

You're an outworlder, right? Are you new, or did the damn seahorses get you too?

That right? Maybe we take some fur off of this one and glue it on. Might help.

[ Small growl from behind. ]

Alright, alright. I was just kidding, no need to get testy.

[ He shakes his head in exasperation. ]

Anyway, lets crack on.

[ He leads on, but in the whole time since she helped him up he's not let go of her hand and is now taking the lead and walking. It should be obvious he's just teasing her at this point. ]

Yeah but it might help keep me stomach conten-hrrk!

[ And once more some poor hapless fish going to encounter unwanted stomach bile.

When the healing magic comes it only alleviates some aches and a headache he had but his contents were still in a knot. ]

Nope. Nope it ain't doing anything, torch. Uuughhhh....

[ Just then a passing sailor comments. ]

Bring em' by center of the ship and douse him with water. That should do the trick.

[What a weird scavenger hunt. While not the most technologically savvy person on the face of Avalon, Irhya has at least gotten used to it enough to figure it out at a basic level. And it's easy money, at least. Right?]

Let me guess, you're looking for that list of things too?

[Oh. Gorgeous familiar, though. Sushi sniffs and pops a dainty ear out of her bag, perking up at the presence of another feline.]

[ Noah is not a fan of animals when they spit up on him, even if he deserved it. ]

[ Noah's snow leopard remains uninterested, napping peacefully whilst Noah worries. ]

I hope you have a better idea what these are. I know about half or less of these.

[ She did it without thinking, and now she is dealing with the consequences of that action. Ritsuka does tug a little halfheartedly on her hand, but not actually enough to pull herself free. ]

Anyway, don't cats shed a lot? Maybe we should just try sweeping your room and seeing what we come up with.

Sort of. [Not really.] Some of them are pretty self-explanatory, at least.

[At the very least, she can think of places to find the ones that are straightforward.]

I have plenty of sheep's wool, and I know who to ask for a fire bottle, or at least something that would qualify for one. Hopefully.

But what's a "holy grail replica"? What exactly is the original holy grail they're looking for in the first place? And what about a toy pickaxe? Do miners give those to their kids or something? Not to mention washi tape... sounds like something out of Doma.

Aw, damn. I swept this morning. Miss sleeps-a-lot back there was shedding a lot and bringing in all sorts of crap and making a mess.

[ Noah's familiar remained where she lay, napping and ignoring the plight he got himself into.

Noah does eventually stops and faces her, a goofy grin on his face as he suppressed laughter. ]

[ Referring of course to the tugging and trying to get free of his hand. ]

[ He looks at his phone and zooms in, pausing for a moment. ]

I misread it earlier and thought ot was "wash tape". I was incredibly confused and wondered what the hell that was but, seeing what it actually is doesn't change much actually.

[ He doesn't even want to think of what a holy grail replica is. ]

["Torch", huh? Now it's falling into place.]

[He sighs, half exasperated to see the boy in this predicament too, half comforted that he himself isn't the only one who drew the seahorses' ire.]

It's Hijikata. You know, from the factory... from Mab's Cavern, I mean.

[His glance moves to the time shards hovering near Noah. That church... maybe that's where he lived and first met his nun friend? He nudges his head at it.]

That's your homeworld?

[Going to the center of the ship sounded like a good idea...not so much the dousing. That sounded like a great way to get sick.

Still he offered a hand.]

I think he has the right idea. I also have some tonics that are good for soothing the stomach. They are not magical but they should still be effective enough.

I'm Irhya. I'd offer my ears for the scavenger hunt if I could, but it does say headband... and these are not.
