I can never think of a good title for these...

🧙 WHO: Floyd and some open, some closed

I – Arrival – Closed to those also arriving
The instant that Floyd hits the water of The Bay his form seems to meld and change from the tall, long limbed teen to that of a sleek and smooth eel-like mermaid form. He’s able to quickly bring himself to the surface, head peeking out and around to try and work out just what had happened. What was going on? He had just been heading back to the dorm after the first day of the VDC only to land… in some body of water? Weird~. His journey back to the beach would be easier than most, though he does have to spend time dodging away from those grabby ‘hands’ of the octopi. Any other time this would be fun, a kind of game to test his dexterity, but… Floyd’s really confused with all that is going on and would like to find out what is happening.

Those who have managed to make their way to the shore before him may notice that long form swimming its way into the coastline, though just before he hits land Floyd appears standing back on his feet, walking his way out of the water. He’ll pause to look around before joining those heading up the cliff staircase towards Rent-a-Ride, getting his stuff back and joining the carriage as it heads out. He also will be taking this time to get himself acquainted with what at first looks like one of those tiny octopi from the Bay, but who seemed more than comfortable with being out of the water. It looks less comfortable as Floyd seems to ‘test’ it out, holding it this way and that way as it struggled and slapped at his playful tormenting of it. It seems that being Floyd’s familiar is going to be tough.

II – Checking things out – Open to all
The City of Camelot was… eh, it was a city, he guesses. It’s fine. There was a lot of things to see and do though by the look of it, though Floyd seems in no rush to make his way around it as he wanders around looking at this and that. For the most it seems Floyd is just moving around aimlessly off to somewhere, though he’s making a mental note of what he sees; that alchemy shop would be useful in future, and he’s certainly interested in that parkour gym. He’ll have to come back to that later.

Most of the time ‘Squishy’, Floyd’s Kraken who is currently a size that could fit in Floyd’s palm, will be found clinging either to the top of Floyd’s head or around by his neck and ‘sitting’ on his shoulder. Unless Floyd gets bored and starts to annoy Squishy by playing with him in his hand.

Want to help a lost looking teen out? One that at first glance people may confuse with another who had been brought in before. After all, at first glance Floyd does look near identical to his twin Jade, maybe the keen eyed will note the differences between them. At least until Floyd opens his mouth and makes it clear he very much is not Jade.

III – Golden Silence – Closed to Jade Leech and Azul Ashengrotto
Well didn’t this place looks rather familiar? During his wandering around the city and quickly getting bored and hungry and tried, he had made his way to looking for a place to eat, not really considering a lack of funds to this name, it would had been something he would have to sort out later somehow. But having stuck his head into the door of this place, it certainly had a feel of a certain person’s style, he instantly able to spy how well made everything was inside and clearly has been picked out to be the best of the best. Hey, even if it hadn’t reminded him of Mostro Lounge he was still hungry enough to consider the options.

Floyd is most certainly not in the dress code of the restaurant, having arrived in his gym uniform from school, but if there is a host at the door he doesn’t recognize he’s just going to walk past them, even if they make a fuss to try and stop him. He wants to look around! Don’t try and stop him, he’s curious. Wooww, wasn’t this just all very fancy.

There is definitely a case of mistaken identity going on here.

Or, you know, Floyd will have to start assuming that teenage girls who are running up to you - through the puddles that the downpour has been causing, no less - with huge smiles on their faces are just a regular thing in this place. Clearly all new people are greeted as if the people in the city already know them.

"Heeeey! Are you out as well?"

Sure, Minako might not have spoken with Jade that often, but at least often enough to recognize his face.

(Or so she thinks.)

Floyd doesn't even question the chance he may be mistaken for someone else, just rolling with it, "Yeahhh, I am." Answering as if it was meant for him as he turns to see who is calling to him, head tilted a little as he spoke.

"What you doing?" May as well play along, who knows what he can find out until it's made clear he has no clue who this is.

(OOC: Floyd gives everyone fish/water animal nicknames, does bluecheek butterflyfish work for her for you? I imagine he would shorten it down to butterflyfishy or something over time or similar.)

"Hm, me? I was helping out with that one request on the quest board.. you know, the one about selling the handbags?"

Yes, it's definitely obvious now that she's mistaking him for someone else. Or that, at the very least, she is very much assuming that he's been in this place for long enough to know what she's talking about without her having to explain even a single thing about it.

Maybe even assuming he's been here for long enough to have seen her network message from weeks ago.

"I was just out delivering some that I've sold! Hey, hey, you don't happen to want to buy one too, right?" She says, friendly smiling - perhaps even with a hint of a bounce of excitement in her step.

Thrawn hasn't met Jade, so the newcomer is unfamiliar to him. Being the sort of person who likes to gather information and see if someone could be a potential ally, he approaches the teen.

"You appear to be lost."

"Oh yeah~?" Huh, so that's a thing, huh? Maybe for whatever the currency was here. That's good to know. Sounds boring though. Selling handbags? And she's just going up to people and asking? That's not a great system.

"Hmmmm, I donno. I already got a bag with me," As Floyd had discovered from getting a handful of items upon arriving here, surprised but happy to see what they included. "Plus I like to have my hands free instead of holding accessories." Accessories were important though to make an outfit work. "And why would I even want one without knowing what they look like or how much they cost?" Come on Minako, step up your selling game.

...wow, he's fully blue, isn't he? That's so cool, Floyd pausing and leaning to look this way, then that way, at Thrawn, no subtly in his actions at all. He does look like the strict type though, and those were always a coin flip if they were fun to mess with or not. After a few moments Floyd straightens back up as he moves to link his fingers behind his head, Squishy moving to wrap around his wrist to not be in the way.

"Only lost if I got a place I'm heading to in the first place." Which Floyd doesn't right now. He's trying to find something interesting to do. He really should find a place to stay, or eat, or whatever, but right now that's boring. He wants to see what this place has to it.

There's a bit of downtime in the restaurant right now, so Jade was taking some time to do a bit of inventory when he heard someone walk in rather loudly. "Excuse me, I shall be with..." His voice dies as he turns around and sees Floyd of all people.

"Floyd?" He pauses and then has to laugh. "Floyd, you finally showed your face!"

Jade had expected Floyd to show up either with a bang or like this, understated, sauntering right on in. And if Jade was any other man, he might have cried or even hugged his brother.

But he's Jade, so instead, he just smiles, though there's more warmth than usual.

Thrawn is used to being stared at, what with being the only Chiss for lightyears around, so he just stands there as the boy looks him over. Thrawn does the same to him, taking note of his expressions in his face and body language. He's also wearing a black business suit, as he usually does on days when he isn't adventuring or on duty.

"Perhaps. Yet, a person can be aimless, not trying to go anywhere in particular, and still find themselves at a loss of direction and a sense of where they are."

Yeah, yeah, blahblahblah, whatever. Yup, Floyd had thought so, he sounds like a teacher trying to school a student, and Floyd didn't need that. "So? If I get bored of one direction I'll just go another." Floyd really wasn't the type to plan out ahead of time, rather he could change his plans on a whim or if something caught his eye. Some would call it a lack of staying focused, others that it was all about adaptability.

Floyd didn't care. If something looked fun, he would do that. If it didn't, he wouldn't, unless he really had to. Or couldn't push it off onto someone else.

But fine, since this guy was so willing to stick his nose in to Floyd's business, "Oh yeah, then where you heading to, Mako shark?" Congratulations Thrawn, your name is no longer important to Floyd at all, not that he even bothered to find out what it was in the first place.

Floyd perked up instantly as he recognized that voice, looking around to seek out the source of it, a wide smile on his face as Jade realized who he was. Jade! "Jade!~" Oh good, he's here too! This will make this all so much more fun and exciting! He also knows his brother more than well enough to know how pleased he was to see him, Floyd making his way over to his twin.

"You're here too, that's great! I thought I would be all alone and bored here." That greeting aside, onto business, "Did you get here before me? I didn't see you at the beach or carriage." Floyd had got the basics of what was going on with the talk at the Rent-a-Ride, and he took most of it in, but still, he had arrived alone and, well... he hadn't liked that. Sure, he could deal with it, he guesses, but it was so much better to have his brother with him.

"Yes, I did. It was November here when I arrived," he smiled, hoping that Floyd remembers what happens during that month But on the off chance, he decides to play coy... "You know, our birthday." Guess which one of you is older now Floyd.

"But, I'm glad you found your way back to us. Azul is here too. He's been here even longer than I have." Poor, poor Azul alone without their wonderful company! Isn't it sad? "Did you have a fun trip though?"

...that's so long ago! Jade's been without him for so long? For Floyd he had just seen him earlier, but for Jade to be without him for months... Floyd can't remember the last time they were apart for so long, if at all. However any show of concern for his twin regarding that passing time switched as Jade continued, Floyd gaining a mocked annoyed expression, "Heeyy~, that's not fair. You owe me a birthday then now." Because that was clearly Jade's fault for that happening.

And Azul was gone even longer? ....how?! "...how did he survive without us?" Like seriously, how? It's Azul, if he gets distracted with the idea of making money or getting something on someone he'll tunnel vision on that and ignore everything else. And yes, Floyd knows that is rich coming from him, but he's no where near as dedicated to one thing as much as Azul can be. Floyd will do it until he either gets what he wants or gives up on it, Azul never gives up...

"Ehh? Eh, it was fiiiine. The carriage ride was boring." Oh! But, "Oh! I had Squishy to entertain me!" Jade, prepare to meet Squishy; Floyd pulling his familiar off his shoulder as much as the little kraken did it's best to hang onto him to not be moved, then holding him out for Jade to see. "It's like a little Azul!" Isn't it great?!

"Welll... Because we're friends?"

.. maybe friends is a big word. After all, even when it comes to the twin that's actually been here for longer, it's not like Minako is particularly close to him. She's just been doing her best to give him some advice from time to time.

But Minako is exactly the kind of person who's friendly enough to just casually use the f-word like that. Why wouldn't they be friends! That's what you are when you talk sometimes and don't totally hate each other, right. You're just friends.

"And you'd want to help me out in a time of need..?" Look at those puppy eyes she's giving.

They're powerful.

If Thrawn is at all offended by the nickname, he doesn't show it, his face remaining as icy and impassive as ever. He has no idea what a mako shark is, other than it must be some kind of marine life. Marine biology isn't exactly his field of expertise, but he makes a mental note to look it up.

"If you must know, I am going to the bookstore, and then the art gallery."

It has been odd without Floyd. Jade's not one to be overly clingy at all, but at the same time it's true, they've never really been apart for that long. It was like when you lost a tooth and would feel the cavity there. You could survive without it just fine, but it still bothered you.

"Isn't it the opposite? Since you weren't here, you're the one who missed my birthday. I can't imagine it was our birthday back home for you..." He's teasing of course, though if he could ring a present from Floyd that would be a bonus.

"And Azul? He did say it was hard here. It's not as easy to make a business in a strange land and he had to do charity of all things." Jade shivers at the thought, just imagining it. "He is well enough though. Possibly made some friends." Probably started doing better once Jade arrived though.

His face split into a grin at the sight of the little Kraken. "How delightful! I can't believe you found such a good friend!" And indeed, he was a little jealous, because yes, he wants to squish it and reaches out to squeeze a tentacle. If only he could do this to Azul.

Hmmm~ he has a point... fine, you know what, "I'll make your favorite food sometime." That's a good trade, right? And any leftovers could go towards takoyaki, so it's a win win for Floyd too. Plus it's sad to think they didn't have a birthday together! Maybe he'll even be nice and ~~tempt~~ cook up Azul's favorite too. After all, Floyd will need money and stuff to get settled in here, so if he can pay Azul ahead of time...

However that next bit of information... Floyd is stuck between a need to laugh and looking shocked and disgusted, struggling to pick one of the two as his expression switched between one and the other to show his struggle to pick. What?! Azul?! Charity?! "Are you sure it's Azul...?" It doesn't sound like Azul. Even with the whole 'compassionate' side of the Sea Witch that Octavinelle works under. After all, compassion comes with a price...

Squishy for his part does not want any part of this, trying to break free, that feeling behind Jade's smile no better than Floyd's, though freezing under that said grin of Floyd's. There's no getting out of this, was there, the little kraken almost seeming to deflate a little in Floyd's hands as it accepted it's fate. As if picking this up, Floyd pats Squishy's head a couple of times as a reward. "Oh! What have you got?" They all got familiars after all, right?

Boooorrriinnnngggg. "Ugh, you sound like Goldfishy." Though Floyd's not sure if Riddle would care about art, though he would with books. Super boring.

Though... Floyd is here, without his normal magic, and he thinks he remembers being told on the carriage ride something about learning new stuff. He guesses he has to learn it all over again. Uggghhh. "Does it have magic books there? You know, to learn it?"

There's a moment of pause, only a second, before Floyd puts on a smile at the two possible options this means; one is she's like Kalim and just super happy and overly friendly with everyone and which means she can be counted on to be ~~a sucker~~ an overly helpful when needed, or that Jade was here. And if Jade was here Floyd doesn't want to ruin whatever he has going on, at least for now. Pretending can be fun, but Floyd would only go along with it while it was fun. He's even able to mimic Jade's normal posture a bit, raising a hand near his mouth as he supported that elbow with his other hand. "We are." Let's see where this leads.

"I can take a look at least." And it means he's got someone to show him around the city a bit, maybe point out some useful places to go.

Thrawn does many things that others would find boring, but that was just how he was. He prefers intellectual pursuits, things that enhance the mind and lead to learning opportunities.

"Perhaps. You may accompany me there, if you wish." He's quite sure there are books there to help one learn to use their magic, even if they're not quite a substitution for learning magic by actually practicing it and going through trial and error.

Thrawn resumes his walk, assuming that the young man will follow him.

There's a long pause, before, "Okay!" Sure! Floyd's up for this! He taking a few quick steps to catch up to Thrawn's head start on him, before falling into a more relaxed step beside him.

Followed by another pause... and eventually. "So... what are you?" Floyd clearly lacks tact... but he's curious! "You're all blue, but you don't look like a fae, or a beastman," Unless he's hiding a tail somewhere. "And you're walking around on land so you're not a merman." Clearly something else that Floyd has not seen or heard about before, so the best way is just to come out and ask!

Thrawn's only reaction to the rather impolite question is his eyebrow raising by a mere centimeter, an expression so subtle that it's easy to miss.

"No, I am not a fae, or a beastman. Nor am I a merman. I am a Chiss, an alien." Thrawn's deduced that Floyd is likely not from his own universe, but many people from various worlds seem to at least know about the concept of an alien. "My name is Thrawn."

Not his full name, but he's long since found out that humans often have trouble saying full Chiss names.

"Good, I look forward to it. I won't even try to force you to cook up a mushroom side dish," he smiled lightly. He would naturally find something fun for Floyd later. There were all sorts of unusual trinkets in this place to buy, many of them magical. So it shouldn't be too difficult to find something novel for his brother.

"Azul has to work at making a good impression here since he was on his own. You know he isn't as good at making friends as you or I." It was painful to think of honestly, but it was also true. He's relieved that Azul's not spent more time hiding in an octopus pot or even a blanket fort.

Jade lets his hand hover and decides to not actually grasp Squishy, tempting as it is. It's not really out of kindness, because that octopus form is far too tempting. But sometimes one must hold back. "Oh mine? He's not around much but..." But for once, his little friend appears, a sea serpent long enough to drape across Jade's shoulders. The creature has a surly look on his face as he stares at Floyd and Squishy. "He's Ophiuchus. Or Ophi for short."

...wwwhhhaaatttt? An alien?! Floyd's face lit up with that reveal. "You're an alien?" He's never even considered the chance to meet an alien! That's so out there! How many people could say they've met an alien! Well, maybe a lot here... But still!

"That's awesome!" Since Floyd's never thought this would happen he's never considered what to 'expect' from an alien, so he doesn't question Thrawn's super strict appearance. Maybe all of his kind is like that, maybe not, maybe they were like people of his world and a mix. Either way, that's super cool. "I never thought I would meet an alien."

Floyd makes a face at the mention of having to cook something with mushrooms in it. He could and would do it, as long as he didn't have to eat it. It's when he's been made to eat it because Jade grew too much it became an issue. And when it took over their room. Who needs that many of them?!

The topic of Azul was more interesting, and important, as Floyd actually took time to think over what Jade said. "Yeah, you're right." For all the trouble they give Azul, normally on purpose... he was still their friend, and if he's able to make friends without them... "That's good. I'm glad he did." He may not admit that to Azul, but he's happy Azul managed by himself. He knows how tough that must had been for him. "Plus if anyone can set up something like this in a new place, it's Azul." The Golden Silence really screamed his style and quality.

Squishy seeming to sense he was safe, for now, tangling his way free of Floyd's hands to hook itself around his wrist and forearm, holding itself there and hopefully out of the way of the twins as Floyd leaned in to examine Ophicuhus. "Aww, it's almost like us! He's cute." Maybe not the choice of description Ophi wanted, but it's what he's getting right now.

"Alright!" Minako answers without hesitating. Without even missing a single beat, that same smile still on her face. It seems that the girl truly doesn't suspect a thing here.

"Actually-- I did just deliver the ones I sold, so we'd have to stop by my place to see the other ones.. It's not like I could all carry them through the rain, after all! They'd be ruined!"

Perhaps Minako is seeming like a bit of a chatterbox here, jumping from one sentence to the next. But it's not like it'd be an unfair impression of the girl, especially since she just keeps babbling on.

"So let's go there first! It's better than staying out here like this in this weather, anyway! Let's go, let's go!"

And with those words she's already starting to move, laughing as she's running ahead through the puddles left behind by the rain, like she's just trusting him to follow her.
