[Hijikata's raised guard is very obvious, wariness rolling off of him in waves even with his face obscured. Rinea can feel herself growing anxious, too; Hijikata's danger sense is more finely honed than hers, so he must be onto something. Still, being addressed so politely activates her manners.]
