OH NO I hope you're feeling better!

You're getting right to the chase, huh?

[In the original story, no. But she did ping on to what Kadoc is going for with his retelling, which he's going to hope means he's telling it well enough for a rewrite. Predictable? Sure, but it's a fairy tale. Aren't they all? And she's so excited about the prospect that he can't help but be pleased with that at the very least.]

They got interested in each other, at least. The soldier realized how smart she was. These weren't just any princesses sneaking off to have a good time. They'd come up with the whole thing under her guidance, and now she was figuring him out too. And the princess realized that the soldier didn't mean any harm. He wasn't the kinda guy who was ready to just sell them out for his reward, or else he would've already. . . . Instead, it was like he was actually interested in her. So she started to think that maybe, if this setup wasn't gonna last forever anyway, it'd be better if at least it was a guy like him who figured them out.

So that night, she didn't give him any wine. Obviously he would've avoided drinking it anyway. She knew he'd figured out it was a sleeping potion. But it was a gesture of good faith, telling him she trusted him enough not to try to knock him out. And the soldier followed them down the stairs and through the magical forest like usual, but once they got to the dance hall, he decided to take off his invisibility cloak.
