That was probably the idea. I don't know why they put so much emphasis on learning or re-learning the magic, though...
[Or why take their original abilities away in the first place. Perhaps it's not under their control, but still... it seems such an odd thing.]
I mean, what if someone just ignores the magic and relies on what skills they already have? The melee tournament is basically that, right?
