[ one, two, three-- alright. three-quarters of the way through those questions and shiro knows something is very wrong here. they’re speaking in canon: same players, same background, but not perceiving the same… end? time?
immediately, shiro pulls up possible explanations. memory loss comes first. shiro knows a thing or two about that, but… it seems unlikely she’d suffer a random bout of amnesia when she seems otherwise unharmed. next, he wonders if he’s the one that’s confused. did he imagine everything? maybe he’s still in the black lion. maybe he’s hallucinating. maybe none of this is even real. his headspace doesn’t exactly have the best track record of reliability.
but no. it’s not that. can’t be that-- he doesn’t want it to be that.
so then he’s left with… slav ( he can practically feel his newly housed soul wanting to abandon this body at the mere thought of that guy ). mental scarring aside, slav spoke of alternative realities. all things considered, it’s not far-fetched, especially here, when he’s meeting people from various places that don’t coexist with what he knows.
so if he follows that possibility… is it beyond reason to believe that the powers of this world could pull versions of themselves not totally in sync with one another? is this allura not his allura? ]
Allura. [ not wholly convinced, but aching, just slightly, at the idea of it, shiro frowns and cuts through the questions for one of his own. ] What’s the last thing you remember? Before you found yourself here.
