Trumpets blow loudly to introduce the start of the tournament day. Everyone is invited to watch or participate. Those who would like to sign up need simply sign in for the competition they seek to join in on. Sign ups open at 8am, though you can sign up any time before the start of your competition category. There are different prizes listed for each category!

In the sign-up area before the tournaments begin, there will be a number of entertainment shows going on: Some of the fae who were invited are giving enchanted body paintings. Once the painting is finished, they will travel across your body like a living tattoo. Please be sure to specify if you would like it to be permanent or temporary, and exactly what you want-- especially if you want a permanent one.

In addition to the body painting, there will be a number of clowns playing pranks and giving out balloons that, when popped, completely cover the surrounding 5 feet in glow-in-the-dark glitter that smells of your favorite scent. Each one will smell different depending on who is smelling it. What's more is the glitter actually dissolves after 12 hours, so you don't have to worry about it never getting out of anything. Amazing!

There are additional dance shows and parades going on through the town and near the sign-up area to draw people in, and little pop-up shops with merch you can buy to support the tournament-- cool t-shirts, sunglasses, hats, keychains, and more. Don't forget to download the Tournament Bets app so you can place money on your favorites to win and make bank! Maybe save some for the tavern afterward if things don't work out, though... or before you make any decisions, check out the castles' royal tea garden, beautifully decorated in a wide variety of wintery florals, which is set up and serving a delightful medley of teas with soothing effects. Just be careful-- each table has a magic grapevine that will communicate with another table, so you may end up hearing someone else's secrets on the grapevine... or just ending up with a fun conversation if you notice it before you say something you don't want to share.

As the tournament gets underway, it starts off with all of the multiview screens taking focus on the royal viewing box. In it stands a man that we have not yet seen before, but who stands with an air of dignity. He's wearing a suit, and a crown, and looks confident despite that he has many reasons to be hesitant- he is back from the dead, after all.

”"My name is Arthur Pendragon, King of Camelot. Many of you may have heard of me from your worlds I'm told, and many still may not have, but I will begin with an apology. I should have been there for those of you who arrived months ago and have been bravely pursuing this battle without leadership. I am afraid a few millennia of culture shock have thrown me off course and the Advent of the Kardashians in my studies has not helped these matters. But that is little excuse. From here on out, I will be with you in your journeys. Those who have questions of me, I will be offering an..."

Merlin's voice comes in off-camera to help him out, since he's still not sure on all the lingo, offering "AMA" to assist, then Arthur continues.

"An AMA to you all in the coming days. But for the time being, let us celebrate the wins and strides you all have made with a tournament. Those brave enough to enter, I hope to see you vying for knighthood and fighting alongside me in the days to come. For the love of Camelot!"

The video ends and the first tournament event begins. The categories and prizes are as follows:

Close-Quarters Melee (No Magic): Any non-projectile weapon is allowed. All combatants meet on a sand lot surrounded by stands. The last combatant standing wins. Prize: 500,000G; (Item) Enchanted Sword, courtesy of the royal blacksmith and permanently enchanted by Merlin (Winner can choose what kind of effect they want upon contact with blade! IC choice, but must be approved by mods)

Physical Healing: All physical wounds will be divided among healers. Participation in this event will yield monetary payment of 10,000G per person regardless of win, as it is an essential service. The first person to complete their patient load will win the competition. Prize: 50,000G; (Recipe) Protective Charm

Long-Range Firing Competition: Archers, gunsmen, slingshot, or any other projectile-firing weapons or magic may be used for precision aiming at long-distance targets, both still and moving. It is not permitted to fire at other competitors, but distracting, blocking, and otherwise creating interference with curses, shields, and so on is permitted. Causing injury to other competitors will result in disqualification. Prize: 50,000G; (Item) Locked-and-Loading Projectile Purse

Lunch: Lunch break! There are plenty of food stands available for anyone to purchase whatever food their heart desires, but for the competitive lot, there is a hot dog eating contest to participate in or enjoy. Let the ref know if you would prefer vegan hot dogs, as they are available. Prize: 20,000K; (Recipe) Instant Loperamide

Animal & Hypnotic Obstacle Course: This one is for the animal and cognitive users. Use animal magic to direct a blindfolded animal or hypnotized peer through an obstacle course. Whichever team finishes the course first is the winner. (No one will question whether or not the hypnotized participant is there willingly, but make sure you discuss OOC.) Prize: 50,000G; (Recipe) Enchanted Gold Rose

Dark & Light Submission: Dark magic users will be given instructions to utilize shadow magic to essentially swallow their light opponent into a vat of darkness and pull them into pitch-black dungeons underground. Light magic users are to utilize their light magic to overwhelm the shadows and prevent themselves from being pulled under. Light magic users are given intsructions to create hardlight bindings to stop their dark magic opponents from controlling the shadows. Whoever secures their opponent first wins. (Multiple winners.) Prize: 10,000G; (Potion) Countercurse

Alchemy & Kinetic Animated Battles: An alchemist and a kinetic user pair up to alchemize a warrior of their choosing. It can be made of any material you like-- stone, straw, brick, mud, steel, whatever, but it must be made to be mobile and armed as you please, as kinetic users will then be tasked with animating various parts of the body and fighting the alchemists's creations against each other. Prize: 50,000G to each member of the winning team; (Potion) Animatia

Single Element Knock-Out: Elemental magic users may select one element to fight with. Each magic user is given their own platform in a pool. The goal is to knock your opponents into the water. Note: The water of the pool is not usable in the competition; using the pool will result in disqualification. You can jump from platform to platform to avoid hits but leaving the pool area will result in disqualification. Prize: 50,000G; (Recipe) Glowstick

Magical Melee: Like the close-quarters free-for-all, any magic type may join in. All combatants meet on a sand lot surrounded by stands. The last mage standing wins. Prize: 500,000G; (Item) Channeling Staff

Anyone who participates will get the following: A big thank you, a free meal ticket redeemable at any food stand during lunch, and (Recipe) Cool Firework.

[ Stella blinks, like she's surfacing from her thoughts, and gives Mukuro a hasty smile. ]

Oh, it's fine! It's not a big deal, I– okay, no, it's definitely a big deal, I just... hadn't really thought about it like that before? So I just kinda had a "wow" moment, but... seriously, it's all good.

[ She's talking just a bit too fast, but she doesn't seem super broken up about things for what it's worth. ]

All I know is that Wild Duck Burgers can have something called a mystery meat. I heard it was suppose to raise your courage or something.

[Although, now that Ken thinks about it? What even goes into their burgers anyway?]

I'm not even sure if that's a good thing or not to advertise their restaurant like that!

[Again, maybe this was Ken trying to come across as mature for his age. He didn't want to admit that he was missing people from home nor did he want to come across as dependent on others. All he could do was mumble as he continued to hear her words.]

I know that I just miss my friends as they're always the ones helping me out when I need them.

[Not to mention they were almost like family to him. He would move on just fine without them but it was difficult.]

I guess I never knew just how much I needed them before I arrived here.

[Meanwhile Hijikata looks so accomplished, he clearly really thinks he did a good deed just now. Even seeing Allura struggle to clean her fingers with napkins doesn't shake his self-confidence.]

Yeah, you've got to be careful.

[Wow!! Now he's really making it out to be her clumsiness rather than his second-hand overindulgence? He sure is.]

[ A swift nod. ]

Asking that of us after we did not choose to come here would be unconscionable. I can only hope that the King is indeed our ally, as he makes himself appear to be.

[ If not, well...he won't be sitting idly by, but hopefully it won't come to that. ]

[ Just lines, patterns, and colors? Crow supposes that's okay, but he assumes the stag is just getting his feet wet. He doesn't think very much about the fur, but if Crow was in his other form, he might have to consider the same thing.

He grins at the compliment because he surely does take it to the head. He puffs out his chest as he completely agrees with Louis.]

That's right! It certainly won't hurt my image, it'll only enhance it! You seem stoic, so I guess something elaborate wouldn't make sense. What do you do for work in your homeworld?

Don't be. Unlike some of the other matches, you don't have to worry about being something of a meat shield for incoming damage.

[ Not unless the pseudo-robots suddenly decide to run amuck and attack their keepers, but if that happens, they have bigger problems on their hands really. ]

At worst, your ego might suffer a bit from losing, but it's nothing you can't recover from.

[ Harry seems more on par with the humble sorts he's met here and there, so even that he'll probably handle like a champ. ]

[ That kind of steadfast reassurance does make it hard to continue to worry in spite of Tifa's mind exercising every effort to make sure she's anything but calm. But there's no sense in driving herself crazy over it when she can't control the outcome of every battle. She can only control her own actions, and it's better to focus her attentions on physically preparing anyway.

That naturally starts with a good, well-balanced meal -not that there are many ideal options. ]

I could use something with a lot of protein, but I've only seen them selling snacks and sweets. Although, I did see some skewers a few stalls back.

[ That's probably as best as they're going to get mid-festival and on their short budget. ]

If I don't get too far in the tournament, we'll have to start looking at the quest board more carefully. I don't know if they'll let outsiders open up businesses here, so it'll probably be our only source of income for a while.

[ She had kept entertaining the thought that they'd find their way home by now, but that's proving to be very naive. It's easy to be fooled by the whole fantasy-esque feel of this place into continuing to think it's a dream she'll eventually wake up from, but the reality of their situation is a lot more grueling than that. ]

[ Now that didn't sound safe. Naoto audibly swallowed. ]

It isn't a good way to advertise the restaurant that way, but apparently that's what needs to be done to get customers, I guess.

[ He starts steeling himself for what might be a really bad decision. ]

Might as well give it a shot, now that we're here and all.

[ That makes two of them who took a hit to their magic -or in Tifa's case, it's her materia rendered null. Having to compensate for the loss with raw strength is proving to be an exercise in endurance. ]

I wish I could afford to take it easy, but keeping up is no easy feat.

[ Although- her lips quirk up at the edges as she leans in just a bit. When she speaks again, her tone takes on a slightly more playful quality. ]

Did I just hear you worry about me a little?

[ She takes a step back, fingers curling under her chin as she appraises the man before her. While she knows appearances can be deceiving, she doesn't think he's really that old. Maybe somewhere in his 40s if she had to guess. ]

I don't know about that. My master looked older than you are now, and he wasn't ever the type to sit out a fight.

[ Then again, Zangan was one in a million. Even Tifa struggled to keep up with him on her best days. ]

Besides, haven't you ever heard the saying that goes something like: "it's not how old you are, but how old you feel?"

[ It's a light jest. She knows too well how experience can age a person far beyond their years. ]

You might put up a better fight than you think.

(Well at least that is one good spot of hope over there, he appreciates that a lot. He is also fully aware that there are many talented mages out there and this is his first time participating in something like this, so he knows what he is about to deal with.)

Sure, thanks for the added reassurance, Magnus. This is my first animated fighter battle after all, so I am fully aware that there is a good chance that I might lose to some really mages and alchemists out there and many more have practised kinetic magic longer than I do. But I shall do my best in there.

[ That's something on his list, too, because while the king may very much live up to the legends, well...Dimitri would like to get his own impression of the man.

Not that he has any room to judge the quality of a monarch's rule... ]

Only the first time? Though I suppose if he were only revived recently, an adjustment period is only to be expected.

[ A little shake of his head. ]

I apologize if I seem mistrusting, but the circumstances of our arrival are strange, to say the least.

[She is a lot of things, and clumsy is not one of them. This is a horrible mayo trap. How dare you. She hasn't even tried it and she's pretty sure what Hijikata has done should be illegal.]

[All right, she's somehow cleaned this piece of chicken down to a manageable level of mayonnaise. She can work with this. ... probably.]

Here goes nothing...

[And she bites down... and doesn't spit it out right away, which is probably saying something. But after chewing it, her feedback is...]

... chicken is delicious!

[Seriously, who cares about the mayo, huh?]

[She didn't look entirely convinced, but well, she wasn't going to press the matter.]

It's a lot, huh?

[He gives her a little salute, and off he goes. They'll probably end up too focused on the competition to notice each other in the audience later, but at least they'll get to see each other's skills in action!]

I wouldn't be much of a Hero...

[Considering what they've aimed to be? He'd like to tell him, "sorry", to fix things, but what good could he do? Shoto barely knows his face, his name, and nevermind he hasn't once—besides his earlier stuttered exception—said it aloud or seen him more than twice. He doubts his words would matter, but... even here, he's still a student, and he ends the thought, flatly.]

[It's easy to forget, like this—how he's truly so much different. That Amajiki's older, stronger, closer to "hero" than Shoto himself; someone further along than he was. That already he's established this, if he's part of U.A.'s Big Three. Especially now where nothing's same, and their world's a thousand thoughts away. That in mind, he lets him lead, because he'd follow in either direction.

He isn't relaxing once they've moved. He watches him brush away color, and he feels a bit childish.

He wants to try, too. To reciprocate kindness. So while he's reaching to dust at glitter, all the same, he feels awkward. At least, it's distraction.]

It's not like you'd know where to look...

[But he's fine on his own.]

There's a lot going on.

[To say his past is a touchy subject is like saying that a porcupine has a lot of needles. And most of it isn't fit for polite company. Or not so polite company.

He paused at the comment and then shook his head, smiling.]

No, it definitely wouldn't I know from experience how little brandy will fix. I don't need to actually lose a leg.

[He pauses and then shakes his head.]

No I suppose not. You did say you had something important to do.

[Amazing? Well that's one of the most flattering things anyone has ever said to him and he's not sure how to feel about that for a moment, but he nods after a moment.]

Don't worry, I plan on going as far as I can. Otherwise I put all this effort into beating you for nothing.

[Realistically he should get some rest though, with what his limits are. But Joshua's also stubborn. And it is a point of honor now.]

I don't plan on letting anyone have anything from me for free though.

[Caster went quiet, hugging onto her own arms.

Whilst she was brooding, her familiar wandered over to Joshua to investigate him.]

Yeah, can't go wrong with chicken with mayonnaise.

[Just emphasising this for the record! It's the mayonnaise that makes it delicious! Clearly! But this is good overall; she likes fair food. She isn't totally hopeless. She'll probably be able to survive here.]

[Sure, coerce her into eating mayonnaise first before exchanging names. Priorities.]

"Truthfully, I suppose I need to change my style up. Before I arrived here, I was much faster, much more durable. A simple blade wouldn't have been able to break my skin."

Oh yeah, he's kind of reminded himself that he's bleeding. He clamps his free hand over the wound to try to slow that down a little bit, maybe, but he still doesn't look overly bothered by the injury. More thoughtful than anything else, really.

"Since I was like that, I was able to attack more aggressively. More confidently, but now I simply don't have the strength or reflexes that I once did. Sorry to waste your time."

[ She clicks her tongue! How very dare, Tifa! ]

Despite what you may think of me, I do worry about everyone. It's taking all my strength not to lecture you further, were I not certain it'd go in one ear and out the other!

[Looking at the burger and then back at Naoto, he did gave him a certain look.]

You don't think the burger here will be similar to the ones back home, right? It's nothing like mystery meat, right?

[Because he really would like to have his stomach intact, thank you!]
