Trumpets blow loudly to introduce the start of the tournament day. Everyone is invited to watch or participate. Those who would like to sign up need simply sign in for the competition they seek to join in on. Sign ups open at 8am, though you can sign up any time before the start of your competition category. There are different prizes listed for each category!

In the sign-up area before the tournaments begin, there will be a number of entertainment shows going on: Some of the fae who were invited are giving enchanted body paintings. Once the painting is finished, they will travel across your body like a living tattoo. Please be sure to specify if you would like it to be permanent or temporary, and exactly what you want-- especially if you want a permanent one.

In addition to the body painting, there will be a number of clowns playing pranks and giving out balloons that, when popped, completely cover the surrounding 5 feet in glow-in-the-dark glitter that smells of your favorite scent. Each one will smell different depending on who is smelling it. What's more is the glitter actually dissolves after 12 hours, so you don't have to worry about it never getting out of anything. Amazing!

There are additional dance shows and parades going on through the town and near the sign-up area to draw people in, and little pop-up shops with merch you can buy to support the tournament-- cool t-shirts, sunglasses, hats, keychains, and more. Don't forget to download the Tournament Bets app so you can place money on your favorites to win and make bank! Maybe save some for the tavern afterward if things don't work out, though... or before you make any decisions, check out the castles' royal tea garden, beautifully decorated in a wide variety of wintery florals, which is set up and serving a delightful medley of teas with soothing effects. Just be careful-- each table has a magic grapevine that will communicate with another table, so you may end up hearing someone else's secrets on the grapevine... or just ending up with a fun conversation if you notice it before you say something you don't want to share.

As the tournament gets underway, it starts off with all of the multiview screens taking focus on the royal viewing box. In it stands a man that we have not yet seen before, but who stands with an air of dignity. He's wearing a suit, and a crown, and looks confident despite that he has many reasons to be hesitant- he is back from the dead, after all.

”"My name is Arthur Pendragon, King of Camelot. Many of you may have heard of me from your worlds I'm told, and many still may not have, but I will begin with an apology. I should have been there for those of you who arrived months ago and have been bravely pursuing this battle without leadership. I am afraid a few millennia of culture shock have thrown me off course and the Advent of the Kardashians in my studies has not helped these matters. But that is little excuse. From here on out, I will be with you in your journeys. Those who have questions of me, I will be offering an..."

Merlin's voice comes in off-camera to help him out, since he's still not sure on all the lingo, offering "AMA" to assist, then Arthur continues.

"An AMA to you all in the coming days. But for the time being, let us celebrate the wins and strides you all have made with a tournament. Those brave enough to enter, I hope to see you vying for knighthood and fighting alongside me in the days to come. For the love of Camelot!"

The video ends and the first tournament event begins. The categories and prizes are as follows:

Close-Quarters Melee (No Magic): Any non-projectile weapon is allowed. All combatants meet on a sand lot surrounded by stands. The last combatant standing wins. Prize: 500,000G; (Item) Enchanted Sword, courtesy of the royal blacksmith and permanently enchanted by Merlin (Winner can choose what kind of effect they want upon contact with blade! IC choice, but must be approved by mods)

Physical Healing: All physical wounds will be divided among healers. Participation in this event will yield monetary payment of 10,000G per person regardless of win, as it is an essential service. The first person to complete their patient load will win the competition. Prize: 50,000G; (Recipe) Protective Charm

Long-Range Firing Competition: Archers, gunsmen, slingshot, or any other projectile-firing weapons or magic may be used for precision aiming at long-distance targets, both still and moving. It is not permitted to fire at other competitors, but distracting, blocking, and otherwise creating interference with curses, shields, and so on is permitted. Causing injury to other competitors will result in disqualification. Prize: 50,000G; (Item) Locked-and-Loading Projectile Purse

Lunch: Lunch break! There are plenty of food stands available for anyone to purchase whatever food their heart desires, but for the competitive lot, there is a hot dog eating contest to participate in or enjoy. Let the ref know if you would prefer vegan hot dogs, as they are available. Prize: 20,000K; (Recipe) Instant Loperamide

Animal & Hypnotic Obstacle Course: This one is for the animal and cognitive users. Use animal magic to direct a blindfolded animal or hypnotized peer through an obstacle course. Whichever team finishes the course first is the winner. (No one will question whether or not the hypnotized participant is there willingly, but make sure you discuss OOC.) Prize: 50,000G; (Recipe) Enchanted Gold Rose

Dark & Light Submission: Dark magic users will be given instructions to utilize shadow magic to essentially swallow their light opponent into a vat of darkness and pull them into pitch-black dungeons underground. Light magic users are to utilize their light magic to overwhelm the shadows and prevent themselves from being pulled under. Light magic users are given intsructions to create hardlight bindings to stop their dark magic opponents from controlling the shadows. Whoever secures their opponent first wins. (Multiple winners.) Prize: 10,000G; (Potion) Countercurse

Alchemy & Kinetic Animated Battles: An alchemist and a kinetic user pair up to alchemize a warrior of their choosing. It can be made of any material you like-- stone, straw, brick, mud, steel, whatever, but it must be made to be mobile and armed as you please, as kinetic users will then be tasked with animating various parts of the body and fighting the alchemists's creations against each other. Prize: 50,000G to each member of the winning team; (Potion) Animatia

Single Element Knock-Out: Elemental magic users may select one element to fight with. Each magic user is given their own platform in a pool. The goal is to knock your opponents into the water. Note: The water of the pool is not usable in the competition; using the pool will result in disqualification. You can jump from platform to platform to avoid hits but leaving the pool area will result in disqualification. Prize: 50,000G; (Recipe) Glowstick

Magical Melee: Like the close-quarters free-for-all, any magic type may join in. All combatants meet on a sand lot surrounded by stands. The last mage standing wins. Prize: 500,000G; (Item) Channeling Staff

Anyone who participates will get the following: A big thank you, a free meal ticket redeemable at any food stand during lunch, and (Recipe) Cool Firework.

My name is Irhya, and I am a dark knight. I guess my attitude precedes me sometimes, and for that much I apologize, at least.

As you should. But don't be embarrassed about practicing! Nobody's born a master at it, even if someone happens to be really gifted at learning.

If you want to know a secret, I was only so-so at magic myself, I think, back when I was a healer full-time. Not enough to impress my teachers, at any rate. Nowadays I use the magic potential I have more defensively, for shields and the like. Normally, anyway; this is an exception.

[A shrug; it doesn't seem to bother her.]

Well, that's alright. Actions speak louder and all that. I'll get back to you when I find someone with just those circumstances.

I did swap to swordplay, and frankly I'm a lot better at it. Magic is only used to augment my defenses, not as a means of destruction. I can still do it without having the magic I had at home, fortunately.

But I... take it by the name you are a mage as well, right? You do have that mysterious air about you...

[ She wishes she could answer anything for him— but all she can do is act as she has for the people she's worked so hard to help through their own pain from wars and conflicts.

Some even caused by the people of the empire this very being before her has created.

She knows she should hate him— she thought of that so much in that other city, and yet... there was so much else to him beyond that, even if he was part of a group of beings that were even more of a threat to them for generations.

But he's here now. Where he's as powerless as her— she may be nothing in the grand scheme of it all, but... she remembers when he felt nothing more than any other person she would befriend in her adventures.

He's just the person she called Emmy, to her. The friend she made, and all she wants is to let him feel safe in that friendship.

When he finally seats himself, she sits down by his side and moves her arms over her knees. After some minutes of being seated in silence, one hand lifts to the side of the cowl, tapping the back of her hand over the fabric covering where his ear is, trying to bring some levity to the situation with her next words. ]

[As the bird continued to climb up the ladder, Ken was starting to feel a little more confident in himself. With a smile, he had to say this.]

Okay when you're at the top, let's make sure you fly through the hoops. Be careful, there are a bunch of them.

[The bird gave a nod before attempting to do so. Ken didn't want to allow his childish self to show but he was just so happy the animal was finally listening to him!] Yes, good job! Now let's keep it up!

Then how about I try to make something similar? It won't be the same but I am trying to learn how to cook lately. So if you treat me, I'll return the favor.

... My name is Maribelle. I was a healer in my world as well. So... adjusting to this set of particulars... has not been easy.

Sort of, more just colors, patterns, lines, things like that. Nothing that's actually an image.

[ He's not really the type to do things like paint on himself. But surely, no actual pictures and just colors and designs would work. And, it'd probably look terrible as it slowly fades away color by color. ]

Not everyone could pull it off.

[The method sounds simpler than Crow would expect. However, he can understand how the heat of a fight could make you more creative. Crow had to think on his feet in this fight and his previous bouts. The musicians hardly ever had to fight in his own world, and when he did, it was brainless monsters who were easy to beat. In this competition, his opponents were also talented and intelligent, so Crow has to use strategy.]

Well however you did it, it was pretty cool. I mean it sucked to lose to a garden snake, but it's still amazing how you used it.

[He frowns as Joshua says he's tired. If he's going to beat him, he has to push himself as far as he can go!]

Then wake up! Don't let me look even worse losing to someone who's just gonna be defeated in the next round. You better be just as merciless with them!

Hmm... When you say it like that, I guess your Signature isn't completely unlike the signatures of my world. While they may not go as deeply as yours, they are still one part of what makes a person unique.

[Finally, she asks:]

[Bird buddies! Hythlodaeus, meanwhile, feels a little bit bad about embarrassing the poor teen, but it's also kind of adorable, and he has a mischievous streak. Sorry, Tamaki.]

Simply because it is the sensible thing to do does not make it any less meaningful. And your consideration did not appear to come from a place of simply obeying the expectations, but rather genuine care.

[ Although, she can't say she has any real aspirations for victory herself. As nice as it would be to have some money to subsist on this land for however long they're trapped, it wouldn't surprise her if she were to fail against an opponent, considering what many from other dimensions are capable of. She doesn't have anything like monstrous strength or decades of experience to rely on.

Still, she intends to give it her all, if only because it's not just her who needs the money but Aerith and any others she comes across who may be starving and in need of a nice, warm bed. ]

That's something you'll have to work out together, but if you ever need a third party to negotiate I'll be glad to help.

It might not be fair, but I can't do much to change what's happening so I just have to change myself to try and help the people around me.

I will keep my guard up for the time being, though I think for today at least it's ok to relax and have some fun. After all festivals are made to be enjoyed.

Duh, you bet I am! I wanna get in on them eats! I'm gonna be starving by the time lunch comes around and one meal ticket's not gonna be enough, so I'm just gonna eat hotdogs until the idea of eating anymore hotdogs makes me wanna barf. Perfect!

Oh my God, right? Right?! They just straight up didn't explain any of that to us in class when we were doing mythology stuff. I ended up finding it out when I was reading stuff up on my own and it was pretty wild. Especially since they always kind of made Zeus sound like a nice guy when they told us stuff in class, but nope! Couldn't be more far off!

I won't be any help with that, but the good news is that with all the different people coming in someone's bound to know their way around the fashion business. I think I even saw someone make a related post on AOL the other week... wasn't it that Ramuda boy?

[Ramuda is actually just a few years younger than him, but he's so tiny and energetic, Hijikata assumes that he's still in his teens. He hasn't personally spoken with him before, but he saw him fight in a rap battle when they were stuck on Prismatia together, and he recalls him running a fashion boutique there too, albeit he never frequented it (their interests aren't on the same wavelength, clearly). He didn't monitor the post, otherwise he might be aware of who responded.]

[ Harry may be young, but he is a wizard. That means magic should theoretically be his forte. Odds are he'll do fairly well in his matches, assuming he goes with his strengths and doesn't try to be too adventurous. Thus far, he hasn't met too many others for which all this is a natural development, and Magnus has witnessed first-hand their struggles to acclimate. ]

Yeah... that and some okonomiyaki sounds fantastic right about now.

[ He starts to daydream about his mother's food, but is soon broken out of it by reality hitting him a lot sooner than most. Then Ken's deal hits his ears. It takes a moment for him to respond. ]

[ He said it with another final wave. He sees no point in not answering her question. He's the only bipedal deer around here, and anyone determined enough could easily find him if they were determined to do so. Even if Louis likes to keep to himself, there were plenty of people who had simply just seen him around. He sees no point in engaging with a debate over a t-shirt. He's of the opinion that people should really just get what they want in the end, even if they don't like the way someone else feels about something.

And that's when he hears the bark. His ears twist and turn in the direction of the sound. Part of him feels that prey instinct to kick of his feet and take off and get lost in a crowd somewhere - to see how fast he can possibly go with one foot and a prosthetic. Even if he knows there's no reason to be afraid, to be concerned. This dog is of no threat to him.

If the goal today was specifically to disgruntle him - it was successful. He doesn't like being jumped on by strange animals. The moment he feels the animal has gotten too close, he turns, squats, and hooks his fingers in the collar to gain control of the situation. It at least keeps the dog from jumping up on him. There's no affection in his action. ]

Don't touch me.

Consider leaving your dog at home if this is going to occur. Most animals won't enjoy being accosted by another random animal.

I’ll be taking part of the animated battles and magical melee battles later today. I heard that the animated battles will have me paired with an alchemist to build a fighter and I get to move its parts to fight another team’s fighter.

(Well, it’s not much by any means of the imagination, but he knows that he’s dealing with a lot of competition and he might lose against some really good mages and alchemists as well. But at least he will have fun competing regardless of the results.)
