Trumpets blow loudly to introduce the start of the tournament day. Everyone is invited to watch or participate. Those who would like to sign up need simply sign in for the competition they seek to join in on. Sign ups open at 8am, though you can sign up any time before the start of your competition category. There are different prizes listed for each category!

In the sign-up area before the tournaments begin, there will be a number of entertainment shows going on: Some of the fae who were invited are giving enchanted body paintings. Once the painting is finished, they will travel across your body like a living tattoo. Please be sure to specify if you would like it to be permanent or temporary, and exactly what you want-- especially if you want a permanent one.

In addition to the body painting, there will be a number of clowns playing pranks and giving out balloons that, when popped, completely cover the surrounding 5 feet in glow-in-the-dark glitter that smells of your favorite scent. Each one will smell different depending on who is smelling it. What's more is the glitter actually dissolves after 12 hours, so you don't have to worry about it never getting out of anything. Amazing!

There are additional dance shows and parades going on through the town and near the sign-up area to draw people in, and little pop-up shops with merch you can buy to support the tournament-- cool t-shirts, sunglasses, hats, keychains, and more. Don't forget to download the Tournament Bets app so you can place money on your favorites to win and make bank! Maybe save some for the tavern afterward if things don't work out, though... or before you make any decisions, check out the castles' royal tea garden, beautifully decorated in a wide variety of wintery florals, which is set up and serving a delightful medley of teas with soothing effects. Just be careful-- each table has a magic grapevine that will communicate with another table, so you may end up hearing someone else's secrets on the grapevine... or just ending up with a fun conversation if you notice it before you say something you don't want to share.

As the tournament gets underway, it starts off with all of the multiview screens taking focus on the royal viewing box. In it stands a man that we have not yet seen before, but who stands with an air of dignity. He's wearing a suit, and a crown, and looks confident despite that he has many reasons to be hesitant- he is back from the dead, after all.

”"My name is Arthur Pendragon, King of Camelot. Many of you may have heard of me from your worlds I'm told, and many still may not have, but I will begin with an apology. I should have been there for those of you who arrived months ago and have been bravely pursuing this battle without leadership. I am afraid a few millennia of culture shock have thrown me off course and the Advent of the Kardashians in my studies has not helped these matters. But that is little excuse. From here on out, I will be with you in your journeys. Those who have questions of me, I will be offering an..."

Merlin's voice comes in off-camera to help him out, since he's still not sure on all the lingo, offering "AMA" to assist, then Arthur continues.

"An AMA to you all in the coming days. But for the time being, let us celebrate the wins and strides you all have made with a tournament. Those brave enough to enter, I hope to see you vying for knighthood and fighting alongside me in the days to come. For the love of Camelot!"

The video ends and the first tournament event begins. The categories and prizes are as follows:

Close-Quarters Melee (No Magic): Any non-projectile weapon is allowed. All combatants meet on a sand lot surrounded by stands. The last combatant standing wins. Prize: 500,000G; (Item) Enchanted Sword, courtesy of the royal blacksmith and permanently enchanted by Merlin (Winner can choose what kind of effect they want upon contact with blade! IC choice, but must be approved by mods)

Physical Healing: All physical wounds will be divided among healers. Participation in this event will yield monetary payment of 10,000G per person regardless of win, as it is an essential service. The first person to complete their patient load will win the competition. Prize: 50,000G; (Recipe) Protective Charm

Long-Range Firing Competition: Archers, gunsmen, slingshot, or any other projectile-firing weapons or magic may be used for precision aiming at long-distance targets, both still and moving. It is not permitted to fire at other competitors, but distracting, blocking, and otherwise creating interference with curses, shields, and so on is permitted. Causing injury to other competitors will result in disqualification. Prize: 50,000G; (Item) Locked-and-Loading Projectile Purse

Lunch: Lunch break! There are plenty of food stands available for anyone to purchase whatever food their heart desires, but for the competitive lot, there is a hot dog eating contest to participate in or enjoy. Let the ref know if you would prefer vegan hot dogs, as they are available. Prize: 20,000K; (Recipe) Instant Loperamide

Animal & Hypnotic Obstacle Course: This one is for the animal and cognitive users. Use animal magic to direct a blindfolded animal or hypnotized peer through an obstacle course. Whichever team finishes the course first is the winner. (No one will question whether or not the hypnotized participant is there willingly, but make sure you discuss OOC.) Prize: 50,000G; (Recipe) Enchanted Gold Rose

Dark & Light Submission: Dark magic users will be given instructions to utilize shadow magic to essentially swallow their light opponent into a vat of darkness and pull them into pitch-black dungeons underground. Light magic users are to utilize their light magic to overwhelm the shadows and prevent themselves from being pulled under. Light magic users are given intsructions to create hardlight bindings to stop their dark magic opponents from controlling the shadows. Whoever secures their opponent first wins. (Multiple winners.) Prize: 10,000G; (Potion) Countercurse

Alchemy & Kinetic Animated Battles: An alchemist and a kinetic user pair up to alchemize a warrior of their choosing. It can be made of any material you like-- stone, straw, brick, mud, steel, whatever, but it must be made to be mobile and armed as you please, as kinetic users will then be tasked with animating various parts of the body and fighting the alchemists's creations against each other. Prize: 50,000G to each member of the winning team; (Potion) Animatia

Single Element Knock-Out: Elemental magic users may select one element to fight with. Each magic user is given their own platform in a pool. The goal is to knock your opponents into the water. Note: The water of the pool is not usable in the competition; using the pool will result in disqualification. You can jump from platform to platform to avoid hits but leaving the pool area will result in disqualification. Prize: 50,000G; (Recipe) Glowstick

Magical Melee: Like the close-quarters free-for-all, any magic type may join in. All combatants meet on a sand lot surrounded by stands. The last mage standing wins. Prize: 500,000G; (Item) Channeling Staff

Anyone who participates will get the following: A big thank you, a free meal ticket redeemable at any food stand during lunch, and (Recipe) Cool Firework.

Should I just place it on the ground?

[For a large part of his lifetime, Soundwave could detect lies in part of his natural telepathic powers, and it is something he relies on whenever he's speaking face-to-face with someone. It's the one sure way for him to know if they're either lying or speaking the truth. It's honestly amazing how even when he lost that detection now, he could still see she's making up an excuse on the spot.]

... Are you sure that's the reason?

[He's going to go with doubt here, this time. But her remark on his scent gets him to reel back slightly, before getting him composure back together again.]

I... suppose I have a fondness for nature lately. [He won't lie about that, but he is a flustered now, shifting his weight, vents hissing out air.]

Ah, yes it's alchemy.

[ She's a big surprised that someone was taking interest since there's people with more interesting set ups. ]

This is one that I acquired here. I did arrive with a weapon from home, but...

[At this point, she would normally demonstrate, but that's a little difficult for the same reason that she opted not to use it. She'll have to use her words instead.]

It's a specialized weapon called a bayard, which can adapt to any form that I might need in battle. However, I'm not certain if its capabilities were stunted while arriving here. [After all, Blue was certainly weakened, and severely downgraded in size.]

Normally, I would be eager to test it out, but... what if it only has a limited number of uses left? It doesn't seem wise to spend those on a tournament.

[The bird looked back at the girl and then back at Ken. He have a small huff.]

Because I refuse to work if I don’t get something in return. That’s how it works!

[At the same time, Ken just mumbled to himself]

But that doesn’t mean you can’t wait...! [He responded immediately before looking back at Elfnein] But he’s saying he doesn’t want to work if he doesn’t get something.

Do you think it's going to be that bad? As long as the rewards aren't meager... [Siiiiigh. No, bad princess, she shouldn't judge. This is a hard time in its own way, and hard times breed greed and desperation.]

[She shuts up for a moment and drinks her quiznakking tea, thinking the subject over. Then, setting it down...] Well, what about not freelance work — starting a business? This could be an opportunity for someone to scout for help.

[Tournament, job fair... same difference, right?]

[ Nyahaha~ Now he's so confident it's going in a circle and making him humble again. ]

But... in the end, we're all allies here! So, really, I'm also showing them that they can count on me!

[Adapt to any form in battle? Dust struggles to picture that, and can ultimately only do so in terms of other people wielding that weapon. For him, Ahrah is his weapon, and his needs in battle begin and end with the blade.]

That makes sense. Ahrah doesn't seem to be changed, but he can't float at all here either. He could do that back in Falana...

Oh, it's for the contest. [That makes sense, and Dust feels a little silly not thinking of that before.]

That strike kept Dust from the next spin and attack that his fluid combat style demanded -- he threw himself forward (or backwards, or sideways, depending on how you look at things) to half-roll, half-vault past his foe. As soon as his feet touch the ground again he skipped a couple more steps backwards.

"...You all right?"

Maybe you'll find another swordsman you can train with, and then you guys can combine your magic and grow even stronger.

[Basically, Gokudera's greatest wish for Mickey, in all honesty is to find one of his fellow musketeers. Until then, it's just going to be fun to challenge themselves and grow stronger. He's learning from the fights he's had... both with people as allies in the tournament, and outside of that... with ~~one person~~ people he's met who are threatening his family or encouraging he use his magic for nefarious means.]

... Apology accepted.

[ And she... gives none of her own.

Now then, shall we resume what we came here for? I believe the fighting is supposed to be entertaining the citizens here, not ridiculous bickering.

Aw, well... we're all allies here! So it's kinda hard to pick.

T'be honest, I'm really here to see what I can learn. I'm not really good at this magic stuff yet, so I was hopin' I could pick up some pointers.

Mickey can do little more than offer a shrug. "I dunno what to tell you, pal, but those aren't the people I know. Not to mention..."

He crosses his arms, tilting his head, thinking back. "We don't have any humans in my world. If Donald met someone like you, he definitely would have told me right away!"

[ Holding her weapon firm is easy enough, even in her current state. While the large arc lets Allura's staff build up speed, it's simple enough for Saber to react to.

Their weapons meet, and Saber shows no sign of faltering. She blocks the staff with her own slash, matching Allura's attack... but with her current strength, handling that momentum is still a bad idea.

Instead, she uses her own attack to push and deflect the staff upward. Saber leans her head back as she allows the staff to continue it's momentum and move past her, along Saber's blade, and just barely grazing past her face while Saber moves to the other side of the staff. Saber's shorter size certainly helps here.

She then immediately follows up with a vertical slash onto Allura while the staff is still in it's place after the first attack. ]

[Man, Darin really has that protagonist attitude down to a T. So this hothead is a blacksmith, huh? That's actually unexpected and kind of cool. Hijikata wasn't planning on hamming it up himself, but he can't help but get a little heated at being introduced as "some guy" to all those people.]

Fine!! I'm Toshirou Hijikata, vice-commander--

[The rest gets cut off by a clanging battle noise as he blokes Darin's jab, only to be driven back by his rapid whirlwind of follow-up attacks. Wow!! Hijikata is quite kick-happy himself, but right now he has to stay on the defensive and focus on blocking at high speed if he doesn't want to risk losing a limb.]

Hey! Let me finish!!

[There's a lot to be absorbed, and Shoto's much too close to avoid it.

Spotting the first of two or three figures, one slowly approaching another, and a third, who's high on laughter. And, much as balloons should go unnoticed, sees the clown's as most suspicious. So once needle's brushed its surface, he's taking half steps back. Both too little and much too slow; knowing clowns aren't threats, per se, but an explosion's least expected with its clouds of glitter produced.

Only seconds for legs to respond before it's splashed across his front, his face, the tiny bite of meat he's clutching, which hasn't reached his mouth, although it's also full of glitter. Stiff with shock, and half-parted. Not in light of recognition yet, but he's stammering like he's cold, expression full of violet shimmer:]

What's—?

[Happened??]

Aren't you...? [Trailing off to swallow. His eyes travel quickly, from face, to clowns, to sea of glitter.

Speechless.]

[Lunatia was a pretty big city, and Hijikata never got to know all the other foreigners there. Since he and Gokudera didn't cross paths before he wouldn't assume that he's been there too - and even if he knew, half the people he recognises from there don't seem to remember it at all, so he's given up on bringing it up.]

I'm glad more people are willing to help you out, but... does this kind of stuff happen regularly around here?

[He doesn't need that!! At least his goddamn sadist subordinate Okita isn't here to record videos of him embarrassing himself, but even so! He just can't catch a break, can he?]

[In such a short while (weeks, perhaps, though less than three), he's made himself an island. Grown accustomed to being alone without his friends on either side of him.

[It's as flat as he's sincere. He honestly doesn't mind, but hands and eyes are on his tea, "summoning" ice to try and cool it.]

[ Knocking Saber off her guard is unlikely to happen, and the swing is quickly blocked. ]

[ She says, immediately returning to the offensive and sending a flurry of slashes his way. ]

... I'm sorry, float? Why would you need your weapon to float? That seems better suited for a vehicle than for combat.

[She tries to picture it. And she's picturing... juggling? A sword juggler?]

[It's good fortune that they never met, as Gokudera was in a sorry state most of his time on Lunatia. This Gokudera has no memory of such a world, and after having a run-in with someone all too eager to share their relationship, he worries about any other person from that planet.

Not that Hijikata has given him any reason to suspect anything. They're getting along well, all things considered.]

From what I gathered the night of the Winter Solstice, many people happened upon Pixie circles, and not all cursed. It seems that those who didn't make merry with those fae folk ended up cursed. Some curses were temporary. I was not so lucky.

[At least according to what he's heard from those people he was around when his curse had been triggered, he's a good dog, if over-eager to play and a bit disobedient.

There's a recording of him out there, he's sure. He wouldn't have put it past the baskerville, Lily... not that she'd meant much harm, he hopes.]

[This is bad!! This is really bad! Who the hell let Mickey into this tournament?! Some of the people here are totally overpowered! What if he gets harmed?! Okay, then again he's been in K*ngdom Hearts... anyway, Hijikata can't possibly proceed here.]

Money again. Every cool idea he had always seemed to be tripped up by the stuff. Fortunately his mind slanted towards the sneaky and there was always a sneaky way to get what you wanted.

"We don't need any money. Not when we have a kid who can speak to animals..."

That sinking feeling like you were about to be dragged into trouble again? It's true!
