She can't keep sitting here doing nothing... her hands almost ache with the need to reach out for him as she—very slowly and carefully—turns herself around to settle on his lap, sliding close so that she's able to pull him into an embrace. No teasing, no playfulness, just a sincere gesture of comfort and affection.
It won't take away the pain he's had to endure, nor will it make up for anything that's happened in his past, but she can at last let him know that here, things are okay. He's safe from it, and there are no prying ears should he ever want to get these things off his chest. He has nothing to worry about, as long as she's here with him...
