I don't think it works like that. Light and dark are opposites, yeah, but Light Magic and Dark Magic aren't necessarily opposite fields. If you're using your magic to produce shadows, I can use my light to dispel them, but if you're using it to produce curses, I can't purify anything with just photons. . . . It's kinda stupid, but it's interesting. "Dark" is literal and metaphorical both, but "light" is only literal. It's not "holy" light, just a magical manipulation of quanta—

[Look, he's thought about this before extensively, because 1. Light is his magic type and he's wondered the same thing in the past, and 2. he's a nerd. A nerd who likes to think about magecraft and also quantum particles. After going on about his point for far too long, he cuts himself off with some embarrassment, passing his (normal) hand over his mouth.]

. . . Most of that you're not gonna give a shit about, I know. Sorry. Anyway, it's easy enough to give it a try, but I'm pretty confident in my analysis. . . . For once.

[He lifts his normal hand again and shines a beam of light out of it, aimed at his balloon hand. Like a spotlight, putting the focus on the curse. But it is just light, alas. If it's possible to use light magic to dispel dark magic curses, Kadoc doesn't know how.]
