I – Flappy Veg

They were… flying… flying lettuce. The request really wasn’t joking at all! Out of all the strange things she’s seen so far this was yet another one she hadn’t been expecting at all. Like at all, at all. How were they even flying to begin with? You know what, she’s not going to question this, like at all. She can certainly understand the desire to poach them though. With winter coming in and the increase of mouths to feed, of course flying lettuce would garner quite a bit of attention.

Especially if they’re considered a delicacy.

Anyway, she figured this might be one of the easier jobs on the list and was currently standing on guard over the… over the lettuce. Sighs.

At least they’re oddly cute? She thinks as she holds one that flopped a bit too close to her.

II – Skellén

Okay so now for something a bit more serious, taking on an undead skeleton. She was ready, she had her alchemy mixtures on the read and plant magic on standby! Dressed in her military uniform to make herself look more serious and official for this round of action, Belgium took a slight step forward to the room where the skeleton and box in question were.

This is what she gets for complaining about guarding heads of cute, flying lettuce. And telling herself that she needed to get away from her little café more. Sighs.

“Remember, all we need is the box.” Work smart, not hard and all that.

III – Video / un; Chasseur

[From clearing a forest, to guarding flying lettuce, to fighting an undead skeleton. The month had been quite a busy one so far! Now was the time to unwind in her beer café, a pint in one hand as she scrolls through her phone.

There was still one more thing though. One more thing to bring a bit of closure.]

“Here, where the sword united nations drew,
Our countrymen were warring on that day!
And this much — and all — which will not pass away.”

[She thinks for a moment longer, takes a sip, and then...]

…How does one go about catching a dragon, do you suppose?

[She is not alone in her guard duty. Eventually she is joined by a costumed duck, who poses with a cape atop a nearby rock.]

No living lettuce will be turning into salad on my watch! After all...

[Darkwing Duck? She squints up at him. Wasn't that the duck from the strip bar? What was he doing? Some sort of superhero act this time? Well now that was adorable! Belgium gives him a laugh and clap after letting the head of lettuce go.]

That's right! With the mighty Darkwing Duck here, surely no villain come to bother a single head of lettuce~!

[She's so going to be playing along with this!]

We didn't exactly do a grand job of catching it when it first attacked the kingdom... I can't imagine much has changed now.

[flapsin]

[Clearly this is entirely different from one 'Howard McDuck'! Even as he regards the human as if he's met her before. As she applauds him, he gives a theatrical bow.]

Thank you, thank you! Of course. No heads will roll while I'm around! ...Unless it's a playful roll that they choose to do themselves. [He smiles as he comes closer and looks at some of the lettuce fluttering nearby.] How have things been so far? Any signs of trouble?

I mean, I don't think anyone was trying to catch it. More like... a mix between killing it and stopping others from stopping the dragon.

[A frown and she takes a drink of her beer.]

That still shouldn't stop anyone from going after it again. Preferably capture, but slaying it if it comes to it may also be called for.

[Quite clearly this is a mystery stranger whom she's never met before (even if there's only around three-four ducks here). Anyway, the woman gives him a small, mock salute.]

Nope! It's been pretty quite so far. I think I saw a few refugees eyeing them earlier.

Otherwise no would-be lettuce poachers. How about you?

[flapsin]

I see! Well as long as they know to look and not touch, we shouldn't have any problems with them. [He declares that with his arms crossed while he watches the lettuce flap around.]

I did a sweep of the area, and I've yet to find signs of any suspicious individuals. "Lettuce' hope it stays that way.

Oh I'm sure they will. Chances are they're just hungry.

[And flying lettuce are quite a tempting prize! Speaking of she giggles as one flaps close to her and almost runs into her head. She goes ahead and catches it before giving it a toss back into the air.]

This is turning out to be a bit more quite than I was expecting. [She'll give a polite laugh at the... pun. Better than a groan at least! Anyway, just saying things were quiet at the moment was probably going to jinx them.]

[flapsin]

[Jinxing? What are the odds of that happening?

With no sign of any threats, he stretches his arms out as he prepares to relax.]

Yup! A crimefighter has to be ready for anything. And that includes quiet nights! We can just take this easy and ride it out...

[He doesn't get to say any more, because a flashbomb goes off between them. When the light clears, a trio of thieves are seen running off with a net full of lettuce!]

H-hey!!

We may still have others trying to stop others, really - that's why I don't think we're in any better position than we were before. What's to stop groups from going ahead and preventing hunting groups from progressing?

[Obviously there's no way things could get jin--

No, hang on what the heck!? Why were her ears ringing and spots in her eyes? What the heck was happening. She blinks several times before squinting at the thieves as they run away.

No! Not their lettuce!]

Get back here with that lettuce! [She starts to stumble after them, using her green magic to animate some roots to trip up one or two of them!]

[flapsin]

[He rubs at his eyes as he regains his senses - and springs into action!]

Nice move! [With the thieves tripping up, it helps Darkwing to clear some of the distance! Enough for him to set his own magic into action!]

As for you guys, let me return your favor! [With that, he sends out a blast of light magic towards them to blind them and slow them down some more, if not stopping them completely!]

Mm-- I suppose that's true. Even if it was a proclamation from the King; everyone will still do what they want. Still, doing nothing would basically be the same as failing.

[There's another sip in thought.]

And I think doing this might help bring that final bit of closure to everyone.

[She focuses and lets those roots wrap themselves around the would-be lettuce-napper. Holding them in place against the ground before running before running after "Darkwing", smiling as he manages to stun the other two.]

Good job yourself!

[Using her magic once more, she summoned up another stream of roots from the ground the wrap themselves around another one of the criminal's; who unceremoniously tosses the net of lettuce to his partner!

Oh no...!]

[flapsin]

Why thank you! You know, you have some well-rooted ideas!

[His jokes move as quickly as his footwork! As the lettuce is thrown to the second burglar, Darkwing executes a diving tackle.]

Don't worry, I've got him!

[And so he does! He successfully tackles the thug over. ...But as he falls, he throws the net to the third thief, who breaks into a sprint!]

A-ah... I wish I could come up with clever puns like that on the fly.

[She doesn't, really. But is rather certain that it must be a talented gift to have! No wait-- hang on!]

A-ah, stop you! Let those lettuce go!

[Well that's a string of words she never thought she'd ever hear come from her mouth! She starts to chase after him. Willing roots and vines to spring up and hamper his path, grabbing at his feet to trip him up.]

Let them go! [She starts to focus once more, this time on the heads of lettuce themselves. Commanding them to start diving bombing the poacher!]

Perhaps for the moment. But if you ask me, "closure" is difficult in this place - there's always something that's going to disrupt things. This place isn't normal.

I guess that's true enough. Still, a part of me doesn't like the idea of simply letting it go. Even if catching it gives only a brief feeling of closure; or some sense of justice or reprieve.

You know?

[ A long pause, and then a sigh. ]

Yes, you may be right... I'm afraid the longer I've stayed here, the more negative I've become.

[flapsin]

Keep trying your best, and I'm sure you'll "pun" it down!

[He quips back with a wink while trying to pin down the burglar he tackled. He ties the thug up so that's one less person to worry about.

While his fighting companion handles the other! He watches as she chases down the last burglar... and the net of lettuce suddenly starts moving dramatically and smacking the guy in the face repeatedly!]

Get him, Belgium! You can do it!!

That's fine, if I'm completely honest I've been feeling the same lately... more negative.

[She lets out a matching and frown.]

...But, sometimes you just need to remember that things will get better. Even if things don't look good. Even if you gotta do the impossible.

[resistetmords]

[Heck yeah she can do it! Belgium repeatedly commands more and more lettuce around them to flop down and smack the guy in the head! While she herself charged on ahead, looking super scary and serious as she does so!

Soon she was on him and grabs the back of his shirt to yank him back and onto the ground. Causing the would-be thief to drop his precious bag as she climbs on top of him to give him a nasty beat down!]

Lettuce see how you like being bullied!

[Did she nail it?]

[flapsin]

[With the burglar restrained, Darkwing moves to catch up with her and applauds her as he witnesses her defeating that last enemy!]

Great job! You did impeccably.

[With the enemy taken down by her, Darkwing secures the net and cuts it open to free the lettuce.]

Way to 'leaf' the enemy totally defeated!

Maybe not the impossible... just the really really hard? I could use a bit of help with it though.
