I'm a lover, not a fighter

⚔️️ WHAT: Gokudera's collar-removal procedure!
🕒 WHEN: Early November!
🗺️ WHERE: Dr. Kimishima's Clinic
⚠️ WARNINGS: Language, blood, mentions of decapitation (I'll update if there's anything else going on)

The Day Before

Anyone looking to reach out to Gokudera before his procedure can contact him through his IC inbox or in here to wish him luck or... offer any possible last words for him if they suspect he may need them.

Gokudera's pretty certain he isn't going to die, doesn't want to, and will openly say as much with a smile in order to make himself and anyone he talks to feel better. He will spend the day before the procedure keeping to himself, trying not to alert anyone of any possible upset. He'll seem ruminative and fairly aloof and avoidant when it comes to feelings unless anyone calls him on his bullshit.

For those looking to simply talk to him about this, now would be their best chance. Gokudera has only really informed his boss of everything, and even his best friends aren't contacted. Sorry, but he's trying to keep the worrying for everyone to a minimum.

Maybe he needs to be distracted before the big day! Be the one to distract or offer a kind word! Or... not!

The Day of...

The only people allowed to be in the room of the procedure are Emet-Selch, Dr. Kimishima, Midoriya, Ochako, and Gokudera (obviously). There are people Gokudera would like to see directly after, to announce the successful removal of his collar, or if things turn out badly, would like them to know about his death. In an effort to keep the clinic free of a crowd of close friends, that lobby may only be occupied by Tsuna (or Midoriya as well if he can't get his nerves straight). The preparation for this is probably going to take longer than the procedure itself. This is the time for high nerves and lots of anxious sweating about everything.

The Procedure

Here's the plan:

- Ochako uses kinetic magic to keep the collar in place
- Gokudera uses the Mini potion to shrink himself
- Gokudera falls/shrinks out of the collar's range
- Ochako then uses her magic to move the collar into a lock-box (gotta keep other necks, fingers, wrists or whatever safe from the collar)

There's a lot that COULD go wrong but to anyone who knows Gokudera or what he's been through... this is going to go smooth because it's about time something went well for him.

The Freedom! AKA: Gokudera Independence Day (I'll see myself out)

Gokudera is roughly four inches tall and will stay that way for a few hours. He's FREE! Finally! Consider you get a text message saying the procedure was a success! He'll be celebrating later but hasn't actually planned anything out.

If you didn't get a text from him, you could have gotten a text from anyone involved. Maybe you even got sent a picture of a tiny!Gokudera with no collar around his neck. Blow his phone up with congratulation texts! Show up at the clinic (Naomi may not like that), but hey it's good news! React however you want! Just have fun!

Celebration???

Are we throwing a party? Is there something I forgot? Have a blast and I don't care how your character found out. We have fun here.

Anyway... he hopes this is helping keep Tsuna calm.]

Sure, why not? There's not much to tell though. It was a tortoise, just with a crystal shell and scales.

That's ... not what I'm worried about at all...!

[She can cry all she wants and get his shirt all dirty. He is still going to let her hold on to him as much as she needs to because it's a huge relief for both of them! He was so worried. He'd been sweating bullets the entire time so hopefully, he doesn't smell bad or anything-

Izuku nods.]

I knew you could do it...!! Everyone can relax now...

Could you see through it? What kind of food did it eat?

Yeah. Maybe I should have paid more attention to them back when I was a kid. But then, I never really expected I'd end up in a place like this either.

[There are a lot of things that he never expected, but ending up in this world would definitely be high up on the list.

But he brights a little, even if his laugh is a little self-depricating.]

[She won't cry for long, even that feels like it's too exhausting. Ochako just wants to hold onto her best friend a while longer until her fingers stop shaking. She was concentrating so hard, holding her magic for what seemed like so long, and...it worked. It all worked out.

Without really thinking, Ochako gives Izuku a light kiss on the cheek. That faith in her really did help, as did his advice - thinking about things that make her happy. Stars, her favorite planets, and everyone being able to smile together after this...laughing until there are tears. They are do that now for real.]

Thanks, Deku. ...Hey, let's go get those drinks now, ne? [Ochako kind of just wants to get out of here, really.] And maybe later tonight, we can visit and observatory! There's actually a whole bunch of them in this world!! Lots and lots of high towers with telescopes and stuff that wizards rent out for astronomy! I want to go.

[She sort of needs it.]

[Despite how things are now Izuku really can't help the way his cheeks immediately turn red when he feels that light soft pressure on his cheek. He's just so relieved that she's held herself together and if he was able to help her do that he's happy. He looks at her and listens and nods his head a little dumbly but he's sure.]

R-right- ... The- The milkshakes and the observatory...! Let's go there now, Uraraka-san. I said it would be my treat.

[He'll stand straight and help her if she wobbles. Honestly, Izuku is pretty sure his legs felt a little weak waiting for everything to happen...]

You can test me on how many constellations I can get right.

"'Most powerful'...?"

That is quite the bold claim. He takes another look at the purported leader of this powerful sports club. Try as he might, he cannot see it.

"That boy? Really?"

Not totally, only a little bit. It was halfway milky/opaque (very shiny and colourful though). It ate plants, but the plants on Prismatica weren't like the ones on Earth.

[Gokudera is so excited about this... he does have his leopard pet, so perhaps he just really likes animals more than Hijikata realised until now.]

"You're even smaller than most of the toys I used to play with when I was little," Hanabi notes with mild amusement, carefully taking a seat.

"I thought everyone should be rewarded for their kindness and effort."

She remembers how hopeless it had all seemed when he first told her of his troubles with the collar. The fact that he's free of it is wonderful. It took ingenuity and teamwork to achieve it, and she is impressed that they figured out a way to release him from the sinister device's clutches.

A fair point. The poor boy is quite nervous as it is without me stealing off with his leader right before the big moment.

[ He is not so cruel. Though some would argue otherwise. ]

But I do insist you demonstrate for me sometime. It sounds like quite a curious sport.

“The most powerful sports club.”

Yeah, it feels like a lie because it is one, and Gokudera’s looking off thoughtfully. His eyes land on his boss and he’s smiling with pride.

“That’s part of his strength, I think. The Tenth is easy to underestimate, and rarely uses his full power unless it is absolutely necessary.”

His eyes are maybe a little glassy. He’s deeply appreciative of his boss.

Could you see through it to the food in its stomach?

[He is FASCINATED.]

You should see if you can get one, or at least try talking with the traders! I’d love to meet an animal like that!

“Toy-of-a-toy size,” He says and puts his hands on his hips, puffing out his chest some.

“You should be rewarded too, though!”

Gokudera wishes he could give her something to show his appreciation for her support. One person played a major role in removing that collar from his neck, but she had support, and so did Gokudera. That means so much to him.

[Tsuna nods, smiling weakly, nervously, trying to hide his relief.]

I...I can try, sure. I'm not as good as some of the others but I can at least demonstrate.

[Sort of.]

Ochako is definitely riding a bit of a high right now, smothering down all the anxiety and fear she had during, and even before, the procedure. There's going to be a moment where all that catches up to her - the anxiety crash, that is - but it'll just be a temporary thing...and she's happy it's all over and went as smoothly at it did. Her eyes are a tiny bit glassy as she looks at Gokudera and rubs her face with a giggle.

"I'm so glad... I'm so, so glad." Standing up again, a tiny bit wobbly but otherwise fine, Ochako nods to the doctor. First time? Ochako was genuinely treating this as the first, last, and only time this could work without it being fatal. Maybe Kimishima-sensei was trying to butter her up, but she knows better. "Thank you, sensei. Please take good care of Gokudera-san until he returns to his original height. Um...i-if there's anything else I can do to help, too, I c-can stay a while..."

Maybe. She sort of wants to just sit and relax, but it feels weird to. It happened so fast, she's almost wondering if something might happen the moment she leaves or whatever. Unwarranted, and untrue, but Ochako just can't help how her nerves are starting to catch up now.

I didn't really look at it that closely.

[Ugh, now he has to put a damper on the boy's excitement...]

I'm not sure if it could survive here. Prismatica's atmosphere etc. wasn't so different from Avalon's, but who knows how sensitive such animals can be?

Oh.

[Hey, he’s got a lot to look forward to, just having his life saved and all. The disappointment isn’t strong enough to change much.]

Uri arrived here without any of his flames. He went from being a part of my energy and will to just being… a leopard. They let me have him, and he’s extremely dangerous. It wouldn’t hurt to ask? I’d love to meet an animal like that.

[Izuku nearly matches his type of laugh with a nod.]

The unexpected happening is... almost expected now, ne.

[He smiles at Tsuna. These poor protagonists.]

[Gokudera is so persistently interested that Hijikata can't help but want to relent... honestly, what's the worst that can happen? If the tortoise doesn't do well on Avalon he'll simply ask the traders to send it back (that's possible, right... he better ask in advance).]

OK, I'll ask. But if I can bring it over you'll have to take care of it. I don't have the time, and besides my dinosaurs might kill it.

[His compsognathuses usually run wild in the Forest of the Felled, but now that it's getting colder they tend to stay in and around his hut where it's warm, so they might just take any other animal he brings in for prey.]

It doesn’t get very big, does it? I already have a leopard and Larry. I’m sure I can make room…

[absolutely no hesitation on being responsible for a new creature.]

You have dinosaurs?!

It's small! It fits in my palm.

[This boy, really... he does have a pure heart.]

I adopted 2 compsognathuses from Lestari. If you ever visit me by the Forest of the Felled you can probably see them.

[He would probably be going on and on about how cute it probably is, but holds back from expression since this is through text. His tone probably carries well enough.]

Are they very big? I’d rather not be far from my boss…

[It carries across alright! Hijikata smiles at that last statement, too. Gokudera's loyalty and love for his boss is something he'll always understand and support.]

They're small too (as big as chickens). I'll probably bring them back to Camelot some time next year when they're more tame.
