He looks around... the only dim light is coming from the illuminated blue fish tanks, so it's not easy to make out anything else. As they investigate the perimeter further, though, it quickly becomes clear that the walkway abruptly ends right around the curve in either direction, as if this were just a small segment that someone took out of an aquarium complex.
There's a painting on either of the otherwise blank walls blocking their path, one depicting a rainy cobble-stone alley dimly lit by old-fashioned streetlights, the other a dusty, cobweb-covered attic. The rain in the first painting is visibly falling, and a pair of spiders are actively weaving their webs in opposite corners of the latter one.]
