It wants his head alright. At this rate, both of theirs. It's narrow, but Cloud follows his roll through with a rising swipe up along the back end of the horse as the duo turn to face the swordsman once more.
As Izutsumi suggests getting rid of the steed, the blond's gaze focuses on where he struck...and comes across a surprising discovery; there was no blood. Not regular blood anyway. Instead, drops of shadowy goop that turn to a dark mist when it hits the ground leaks from the wound.
Now... He's slain his fair share of beasts in his time. But after getting accustomed to so many horses in this world, he might have felt a little reluctant to put one down here. But seeing that it wasn't your traditional ride? He offers his partner an affirmative nod, readjusting his hold on his weapon. Getting trampled by this thing wasn't favorable either, so... ]
Time to cut you down to size.
[ The Dullahan lashes out with his whip, the air snapping where it attempts to strike the blond as he blocks it with the flat of his sword. The force behind that crack was enough to force Cloud to dig his heels to prevent him from getting toppled over. If that made contact with him directly... The Headless Horseman does it again, this time attempting to wrap the whip around the weapon. Cloud, thankfully, recognizes this, and cautiously manages to slip away before the wrap can tighten.
Something's wrong though... If Cloud were any faster, he'd just charge in with no issue and cut the horse out of the equation. But they're not approaching him this time. They continue to crack their whip from this shorter distance, testing the swordsman's mettle and reflexes. Almost like the fae knows an up close confrontation wouldn't bode well. It feels in control. ]
