They don't like it when bowls press their whiskers back, and she could remember Maru protesting vehemently to actual bowls when they first got him before they realized.
This will have to do for now until she can get to the store.
And then there's a second bowl for Eustace, bigger and filled with pieces of chicken soup, and she brings his to the table, and sets hers down on the floor out of the way of their feet.]
