After awhile, Darin might hear sounds of other people present; shouts, and the shifting of rocks and rubble. A search and rescue team, spread out amongst the ruins trying to find anyone who still might be alive and in need of saving.
There's a shifting of rubble, as someone crests a pile of debris that's cool enough to safely traverse. Unfortunately, it's the person Darin likely least wants to see at this moment...and the feeling is mutual. At first Edelgard's heart begins to raise when she thinks she's stumbled on a lone survivor only to sink when she sets eyes on him and realizes who it is. Her armour and face are likewise muddy and covered in soot and ash. She has not been sitting idle.
"Anyone there?" A voice calls distantly and Edelgard turns towards it. "No, nothing. No survivors." She picks her way down the debris pile and begins to move past Darin, not sparing him a second thought. For someone committed to "saving as many lives as possible" he certainly seems content to wallow while there might be Fae still living in need of saving.
