[Kadoc has the same thought when Fujimaru says that: it explains some things about her. It's funny how that's the sort of sentiment that has little in common with mage society, and mages are the ones who actually know things about the mysticism of the world. "Treat everything with respect?" Yeah right. Maybe being far from the world of mages really is her secret. He can see how this philosophy would have served her well on her journey.

Every culture's got its own thing. Background awareness or whatever you're thinking of it as. Mages have their own society, but aside from that, I grew up in a pretty Christian country. It's like how I had an awareness of Hell even though we didn't have anything to do with the Church.
