He tried valiantly not to look too unhappy about all this. He really wanted to try one of those pretty cakes, and sleep in a warm bed, and enjoy a nice dinner.

It was just...disappointing and discouraging and he had been around long enough to know these things happened and he shouldn't take it personally but, he was a little annoyed to be trying to gain the favor of a group that clearly wouldn't respect them for doing as asked.

It really WAS a bit like Heaven, wasn't it. But unlike Heaven, he felt no need to defend the fae.
