A. A Sheepish Request [Shear Determination - Drake]

[Drake Mallard is ready to undergo some quests! And the first one he chooses seems simple enough. Just shear some sheep! A... fire-breathing sheep. He doesn't have much experience with this, but how hard could it be?

Armed with a blade for shearing, he starts to approach the sheep with his partner.]

It's... easy, right? Nice, quick and easy, right? [He better hope that his own nervousness doesn't make the sheep too nervous too...!]

B. A Knight to Remember [Hot Knights - "Howard"]

[This request seems a bit more risque than his usual work! But still, there's someone to be saved, and he's here to do the saving. He decides to go undercover to complete the work. So he puts on a rental suit and tries to slick back his hair... feathers... hair-feathers, whatever they are. Once at the club, he's quickly weirded out by seeing all these scantily-clad humans. Regardless, he tries to act natural as he makes his way to the bar and introduces himself.]

The name's... Howard. [A beat.] Howard, uh, McDuck. That's right! [He snaps his fingers, ordering a drink.] I'll have it shaken, then stirred!

[There could be someone else nearby - either someone along with him on this quest or is running into him while doing his separately!]

C. Duck Flick [Cult Classic - Darkwing]

[This feels like a quest he absolutely cannot overlook. As a crimefighter, this is one eccentric and dangerous villain who needs to be taken down! And as an actor, he feels like he has the know-how to corner this villain! And so, in the guise of Darkwing Duck, he finds someone to act out a movie scene with.]

...Okay. Are you ready for this?

Hey, I don't think it's weird at all for you to think things like that. Given... your experience.

[Talking her through this is actually helpful for him. He's not thinking much about the sheep, which helps him to remain calm through his shearing.]

I mean, everyone processes new experiences by comparing them to past ones. And if... if all you knew in the past was life in a video game... then it's natural that it would be your point of comparison. You just have to try to notice the parts that aren't video game-like too. Those are the reminders that at the end of the day, you're in the really real world.

Mhm!

[ It helped her, too. At least she wasn't constantly fearing for her hair to be put on fire by that sheep. ]

To be honest, the first time I met you I was like "oh my gosh, this is really just another video game." [She smiled embarrassingly.] Remember how I tried explaining that it was possible evolution took different paths on our worlds and all? I was totally trying to reassure myself, ahaha!

[ It was nice, being able to speak of her thoughts and fears on the matter freely. It was just a shame the only reason she'd open up was because of her experience last month. ]

I mean, I guess I wasn't really wrong... But I realize how weird it must have sounded to hear me go about evolution and trying to rationalize everything.

I remember, you did say something like that! Hey, video game or not, it is a valid thing to wonder. Considering that most people seem to be from a planet Earth, and mine might be the only one without humans... I'd say it's a valid theory! [He chuckles.]

Honestly, it wasn't so weird at all. At this point, I'm used to getting weirded-out responses because I'm a duck. I mean, of course I'd prefer not to have to deal with that every time I meet a new human, but I get it. You humans just looked like weird monsters to me at first! No offense.

None taken. I can imagine how weird we must be to you, ahaha!

[ She wondered how hair like hers looked to someone from his world... She'd met only two ducks and they didn't have hair like humans did. That had to look so stupid and impractical. ]

I've met someone else from your world, Fenton. Is it only the two of you here?

[He just chuckles at her response. At first, they seemed like weird, fleshless monsters! But he's gotten used to them with them all being so widespread, and at least now he can see them as not being hideous or anything!]

Ah, you've met Fenton! He's a good guy. But no, there's a few more! There's Della and Gandra... oh, and Gizmoduck. That - that would be another resident hero! [This one he'll be more tight-lipped about the secret identity of!]

[ Truth to be told, Monika had thought the ducks looked adorable and cute rather than weird and horrible. But she wasn't going to say that now. She'd keep it for the day when Drake would be in need of an ego boost! ]

Oh, more heroes? [If that was anything like Darkwing Duck... Odds were that either Fenton, Della or Gandra were this "Gizmoduck." But she wouldn't inquire. She giggled.] You know... I've been thinking about this. If I'm going to go fully theatrical when using my magic, I'd need a stage name too, don't you think?

[ She was being surprisingly serious (and excited) about this. Still, she looked down at the sheep, making sure it didn't move. ]

The usual naming convention for girls my age who got magical powers would be a "title" and then a "relevant noun." [And in a way, Darkwing Duck followed that convention too.] My game was named Doki Doki Literature Club so I figured Doki could be the title. So maybe something like... Doki Love? Doki Literature? But I feel it lacks something...

[He'd be happy to hear that! At least one of their first impressions was endearing.]

Ooh! [He's tantalized as she brings up the idea of the stage name! In his excitement, he starts moving a little faster with his shearing.]

Well I'm all for a stage name! Not bad choices, I'd say. Well the second one - it doesn't sound much like a title for a person, wouldn't you think? [He gets more eager as he discusses this topic.] The 'Doki' definitely feels uniqute and strong. Now me, I feel like a little alliteration goes a long way. Like... Doki Dreamer! Doki Dancer! Doki Dazzler! Or Doki Dazzle? Along those lines! It can help it feel catchy and give it a real dynamic energy!

Oh, I hadn't even thought of that...!

[ But that made a lot of sense, there should be a certain musicality to her title! She got more and more excited too-- And her hold on the sheep grew a bit weaker, but it wasn't escaping... Yet. ]

Doki Desire? No, no... [She shook her head.] I really like Doki Dreamer... Maybe I'll use that if I don't find another one~ [She really wanted to have something with "love" or "literature," or perhaps even "reality" but nothing came to mind. Maybe as part of her full title.] Doki Dreamer, Guardian of Love and Literature! How'd that sound?

[Drake's movements are pretty much automatic now, as he's focused and invested in this whole name decision thing! Hopefully he doesn't come too close to accidentally nicking the sheep a little while distracted.

He's glad she quickly withdraws Doki Desire, that sounds a bit steamy - but he smiles proudly as she picks one front-runner.]

I think that sounds great! A neat touch to add some extra alliteration into the whole extended title there. I know I'd be in awe of an introduction like that!

[ Monika glances down at the sheep but doesn't really pay much attention to it. There's not much left of said sheep, is there...? Well hopefully nothing would go wrong in the finish line. ]

I have a friend working on making a weapon fit for me. [She raised a finger. Wait, that means only one hand is still holding down that sheep? Well, that can't go wrong...] Guess I'll just need a costume next! And I think I know just the person for that... I have a friend into fashion.

[Drake gives an impressed whistle.]

Wow, you already have most of what you need lined up! A weapon source, a costume designer... [He gestures towards hinself:] ...a professional hero consultant. It feels like you'll be ready to roll over evil in no time!

[He chimes excitedly! ...Unaware that it's about to suddenly feel a lot hotter around here.]

Mhm! Next mission maybe I'll be less of a dead weight than I was last month, ahaha!

[ Wait, why was it so hot suddenly...? She looked back down... Oh gosh, that thing was spitting fire. Instinctively, she let go of it and jumped back. So much for an evil-chasing heroine, huh. ]

Aah...! [She immediately tried to get back to the sheep to hold it, but it threatened her with its firey breath.] It... I'm sorry....

Hey, you're no dead weight no matter wha-AAAAAUGH!

[As he realizes what's happening, he yelps and hops away with some scorched feathers.]

N-no, it's my fault! I was being too careless... We- we gotta calm this guy down!

I may try a psychic spell...!

[ She hadn't changed yet, so it was her last try to make something useful out of this magic. Rather than attack it with a psychic attack, she tried soothing it. It worked...? Maybe. It was hard to tell. ]

I think... It's working?

[The sheep does seem to be calming down! Now it's just releasing a jet of fire, but at least nothing's being launched.]

It is! Keep it up. Gotta make it feel nice and relaxed! [He makes soothing motions towards the sheep.] There, there, little guy! Sorry if I nicked you a little. Everything's going to be okay now!

[ She nods and keeps working her, quite literal, magic. ]

See, back on the topic of evolution...

[ She looked down at the sheep. ]

That makes zero sense. Yet again, I doubt magic cares for evolution...

[Drake chuckles.]

Magic sure does seem to have its own thing going on, that's true! But maybe it can still make sense. Maybe... breathing fire was necessary to adapt to its environment? [He shrugs as he comes closer to the sheep, while it calms down some more.]

I think it should be carnivorous with that ability.

[ At least it was fully calmed down now! ]

But you have a point. With all the weird stuff here, it may just need that to survive in peace.

I guess it is kind of meaty power...

[He says, making a meek attempt at a joke. He gives a relived sigh now that it calms down here.]

Exactly. Maybe it's a kind of... magic evolution. In any case, it's calmed down now. And this mission is pretty much in the bag!

[He picks his shears back up and gently pats the sheep's head as he goes to clip off just one more piece of wool.]

Ahaha~

[ She laughed heartily and then looked at... What was left of the sheep. Gosh. Was it ugly without its wool left. ]

Thank goodness. [One more mission done!] I heard you can get a nobility title is you do a lot of those missions... Are you going to try becoming Lord Drake?

[It is an odd sight. But also a little endearing? Drake tries to calmly pat the sheep on his head, while he goes to collect the wool.]

It's a possibility alright! I'm doing what quests I can to raise money, but getting some titles will be a great boon too. I actually have more of an eye on knighthood. After all, it would only be fitting for the crimefighter who some call the Duck Knight!

Ooh, and Knight! Right, that makes sense.

[ She nodded. ]

I'm sure you'll be there in no time.

[ She didn't care much for nobility to be honest, but seeing how in this world it didn't give her any unfair advantage, it could be nice. She nodded again. ]

The Lady of Literature by day, the Guardian of Love by night!

[He chuckles.]

You're practically rolling in titles! You're really cut out for this whole hero business.
