For a moment he tips his head to look up at her, a small pause before he flashes her a grin and hunkers down low, on his belly. Even his ears smooth flat against his head while he watches.

It takes a few moments for the fish to get used to the shadow her wings cast on the water, but they're a little too big for most birds to bother with, so it doesn't take long before they're relaxing and spreading out a little more.

"Easy," Shiro breathes, barely audible above the water. "Wait for it...." A smaller and more foolish fish decides to go investigate the shadowed shallows where the water runs a little slower, eddying against the bank. WHACK!! Shiro's left hand has darted out and snatched the fish, flinging it out of the water and off behind him. Of course without a right arm to help brace himself, it means he almost slips, but that's what being on his belly was for.

"Ha!" he grins, tail flicking triumphantly.
