Our Dinner with FERDINAND VON AEGIR [Closed]
🧙 WHO: The Avalon Beagles Contingent
⚔️️ WHAT: Ferdinand has some questions for Edelgard and Byleth after Lorenz Lorenz'd all over things and asks to meet at a local cafe for some answers.
🕒 WHEN: Early August
🗺️ WHERE: A cafe in Camelot.
⚠️ WARNINGS: Might be some light mention of Edelgard's trauma, though she'll try not to be too specific if it comes off. Those Who Slither-related atrocities.
It hadn't taken long to rouse Byleth after Ferdinand got in touch with her and they made their way to the cafe. They'd gotten a table near the back, where it was less likely they'd be bothered or risk being overheard; this was not information Edelgard wished to have shared with random passersby, given its sensitive nature. All that was left to do now, was wait for her Prime Minister to arrive so they could...settle things.
Despite her calm demeanour, Edelgard is nervously playing with a napkin in her hands as they wait. She can't be sure how this meeting will go, though Ferdinand seemed polite enough in his message when he contacted her to arrange a meeting. Still, there was no telling what Lorenz had filled his head with about Thales and his involvement in the Empire; she wanted to believe Ferdinand understood the differences in their worlds meant that not all of what Lorenz would have said was applicable, but still...the fact remains that she and Byleth had withheld critical information from the Black Eagle Strike Force, and had now been caught out in that lie. It was not how Edelgard wanted to go about correcting that mistake.
Another glance at the clock on the wall. It was still a few minutes early, and Ferdinand was particular about being punctual. He'd be here soon. He might already be within sight of the restaurant. To help steady her nerves, Edelgard's hand dips under the table and searches for Byleth's hand, finding it after a moment and giving it a squeeze.
"Shouldn't be long now." She says, keeping her eyes on the door.
