Well, you'll want to stretch your elbow, rotate your wrist, and encourage your fingers to bend. Manipulate them with your hand, hold small weighed balls in your palm and try curling your fingers around them, and other small exercises like that will help. When you're not exercising, keep your arm braced in the instances of spasms, but also to protect it. If you leave it limp at your side, well... a fast turn is a quick way to slam it against a wall or other object.
