Ninth: Walk of Shame
🧙 WHO: Caster, Kadoc and OPEN
⚔️️ WHAT: Caster realises she organised a meeting the morning after staying away from home for some fun, and has to do the walk of shame. Oops.
🕒 WHEN: Morning of the 12th July (backdated).
🗺️ WHERE: Outside a hotel in the middle of Camelot all the way to Kadoc's house.
⚠️ WARNINGS: Sex talk/implications in the open log. Suicide/Death talk in the closed log.
Open: Walk of Shame
Caster's evening the previous night hadn't quite gone according to plan. Having arranged with Kadoc to meet the next morning, Kate had gotten in contact with her to go out for drinks, Caster needed a distraction from her thoughts- and, well, one thing lead to another and she'd ended up having a very different sort of night.
It was only when she'd woken up the next morning and checked the time on her phone- Oh. There was no way she'd be able to get back to her's to get changed in time!
And so, Caster found herself rushing out the hotel wearing yesterday's clothes - a now somewhat wrinkled black top, denim jacket and long skirt. If that wasn't a big enough give-away, her hair was a mess and she had a suspicious little bruise that she couldn't quite cover near her neck. Were those little nibble marks on her ears...?
She hoped no one would spot her, but...no doubt she wouldn't be so lucky.
[ooc: Feel free to run into her anywhere in town as she does her walk of shame to Kadoc's house!]
Closed: An Old Grudge
After shooting a quick text to Kadoc that she was on her way- with an apology for the radio silence so far that morning- Medea made her way over to his place. They needed to discuss the Berserker issue, after all, especially if anyone else from Chaldea appeared nursing a grudge. Hopefully they could get that discussion resolved tonight.
...And hopefully Kadoc would either not notice her slightly dishevelled state, or at the very least wouldn't judge her too harshly if he did read between the lines and realise what happened.
Well. She'd see soon enough.
And with that thought in mind, she knocked on his door.
"Kadoc? It's me."

This has nothing to do with Archer- or any of that! Honestly, what concern is it of yours??
[Maybe stop being so defensive, Caster?]
no subject
I thought we put all that crap behind us in Celliwig.
no subject
[There was a heavy sigh at his comment- perhaps then she realised she was being unreasonably defensive.]
...We did. Well- frankly it's on you to decide whether to put that behind you or not, you still don't have any obligation to defend me.
[No, that was still defensive, and Caster couldn't help but look uncomfortable. Coming to terms with the fact he didn't hold it all against her was hard, even now.]
Let me start again-
no subject
[He offers her a smile.]
So, take your time and tell me what's going on. Whatever it is, I've got your back.
no subject
[But it was said with no malice- just...a complete feeling of resignation that this overly stubborn hero wasn't going to give up on her anytime soon.]
But...I wasn't lying when I said I wasn't attacked.
no subject
But, if that's the case, why do you look so...disheveled? Did something happen?
no subject
Well, at least you have plenty of people who will fight your self-hatred for years if they have to.
[...She was just going to have to tell him, wasn't she? How did she end up in this situation??]
I was...rather preoccupied last night.
no subject
[He can't fight the grin creeping onto his face, but then she continues her story and he cocks his head to the side.]
[You know. Like a dumb dog.]
Okay? So?
no subject
[And she was like a prissy cat, so it balanced out.]
...I was 'preoccupied' with a friend of mine.
[Unfortunately, Caster didn't realise that there was a not insignificant chance that Darin wouldn't get the implication.]
no subject
[He laugh, but even so, Caster's explanation wasn't connecting.]
Oh, a friend? That's great! What were you up to?
no subject
...You may be a womaniser, but you really don't have any idea what I'm talking about, do you?
[Was she going to have to outright tell him, 'We had sex??']
no subject
[They'll...circle back to that other part of the conversation in a second.]
no subject
[Folding her arms.]
...What? I saw how many young women you charmed into defending you! You're clearly a womaniser.
no subject
[His face goes scarlet.]
I wasn't...! I mean, I wasn't trying to...! They're my friends! I'm not trying to seduce any of them!
no subject
Do you really expect me to believe that, Darin? You can't possibly be that innocent.
no subject
W-What makes you think I'd do anything like that?!
no subject
...Come now, what hero sort doesn't like charming young women until they fall for him, hm? I can't imagine you hate the attention.
no subject
And...I...I'm flattered that so many people were worried about me but...but I don't want any of them to fall for me! I've never...
[He sighs.]
I'm not interested in any of that stuff because I can't...you know.
[That...can be taken as a lot of things. He might have to explain.]
no subject
The last point didn't make a great deal of sense, though, and it earned a raised eyebrow.]
...No, I don't know. What do you mean?
no subject
Look, I know our original powers were sealed or whatever but...
[He drags a hand down his face because this is kind of incredibly awkward to talk about but...well, he trusts Caster. Who knows why, but he does.]
I've never...considered ever being...erm...
I've never considered being intimate with someone because...what if I passed on what I am...? My mother died just giving birth to my brother and I...so...
[He shakes his head.]
What I am ends with me. If that means a chaste life then...I'd rather be alone.
no subject
...The whole matter is complicated, isn't it?
I understand that, to some extent.
no subject
How?
no subject
[Putting it mildly, but she didn't want to elaborate on the gruesome details.]
Of course, as a Spirit that wasn't a concern- we weren't able to bear children, after all- But there's...someone I care for in Avalon, who's come to see me as her Mother.
Most of the time I've only been proving those myths right.
no subject
You know, all it takes is one person to change a story.
Honestly? To me, you kinda give off 'big sister' vibes.
no subject
You're awful...! Honestly, you and Homura both.
[But a small smile came into her face, all the same. 'Awful', in this case, was a compliment.]
