🧙 WHO: Sakyo, Izumi and Rei
⚔️️ WHAT: looking into aspiring business ventures with a local sketchy old man
🕒 WHEN: early July
🗺️ WHERE: Phoenix Roost
⚠️ WARNINGS: n/a

[ After his brief introductions with the owner of the performance house, Sakyo finally arrives at the location with Izumi at hand. It's a decent-sized spot, apparently two stories, even including a cafe and a bar. As he steps through the building he notices a strange design aesthetic going on along the walls, these odd bars sticking out here and there, and it's only when he finds a few more distinctly designed decorations that he comes to realize they're bird perches.

...well, it's called The Roost for a reason, he supposes. He has no idea why though.

He'd like to take Izumi to the basement floor where he assumes the stage is held, but he'd rather not snoop around without the owner's permission and get them both in trouble. Once they both arrive at Rei's office, Sakyo pauses them at the door, looking to Izumi for a moment. ]

Remember, the owner's name is Rei Amayado. Whatever he tries to arrange, we talk through it together. And, don't tell him we don't even have a full troupe put together yet. That's not his concern. Got it?

[ He'll wait for her to at least answer before he knocks on the door. ]

( she's thankful to Sakyo for organising this. her behind the scenes work in Camelot's theatre district has been more than she expected, in both good and bad ways. travelling between the inn and the city is an expedition all of its own and most of her days are spent running props and costumes from one place to another, but it's worth it for the buzz of being around the theatre. worth it because she's been picking up her own understanding of what the theatre business is like in this strange place, what genres and styles are popular among the residents here. worth it because all these things will help Mankai find its feet here as well.

flowers can bloom anywhere if you care for them enough, and Izumi is certain that with Sakyo at her side, offering support in his own, prickly way, they can make their actors bloom here as well. they could even make new actors bloom. it's a big task, but after the weight of Mankai's debt hanging over her head for a year, it feels possible.

and this place, with all the bird perches and the sprawling variety of functions, might just be the first step.
)

... I wonder if he really has a bird.

( not the point, Kantoku-chan. but if that is the case, it may be a good thing that Miho is, for once, off doing her own thing. she can't see a reason she'd need the presence of a lion for a business meeting anyway, right?

the place looks nice, the kind of location she might even come hang out at outside of work purposes (she's making a mental note that there's a cafe function, and that it would be pretty easy to reach this place during lunch), and while she's not nearly as subtle as Sakyo about looking around, she's also not wandering off to check everything out. surely this Amayado-san will give them the grand tour later, that's the sensible approach to all of this.

soon enough they're outside the office door and Sakyo's lectures are, as ever, on the tip of his tongue. it's well-meaning enough but stings in that way they often do, like she's being chided by her father and expected to mess up. she knows what she's doing, Sakyo! gosh!
)

It'll be fine! ( though maybe they could be a bit more prepared, but she's stumbled through worse than one single meeting with a random business owner. how difficult could it be? )
