🛡️ SHIELD SUMMER FEVER! 🛡️ - OPEN

[Darin always felt bad for the people who could get sick. Back home, his powers prevented him from falling ill, even to such banal things as a summer cold. But he did have experience as a gofer for his town's doctor, as well as doing errands and chores for the people who fell ill. So, this job was right up his alley.]

[One thing he knew for sure, when you're under the weather, nothing beats a good laugh.]

[With the trusty use of the new EmphaSize spell he nabbed from the traders, you'll find him waddling around with huge, oversized feet as he goes from room to room delivering flowers, teddy bears, medicine, fruit baskets, you name it. If he happens to be entering a kid's room, he'll make a big show of his giant, floppy feet. If its an elderly person's room, he'll sit with them for awhile and ask them about their day or let them ramble on.]

[But it's likely leaving one of the rooms is when you'll bump into Darin. Or trip over his enormous, floppy feet.]

Oh, hey! Easy there! You okay? Sorry, I should get a signal or something for these things...

🗡️ LAVAFT BEHIND 🗡️ - OPEN

[This seemed like a pretty easy task, all things considered. Everyone knew slimes were low-level monsters, even if they had the same temperature as magma. And Darin worked professionally around molten metal all day. If there was anyone who could handle this task, it was him.]

[Though, having someone along in case things went awry was a good idea too. Especially since his blood magic wouldn't really do him much good here.]

[So back to the Diamond Falls Darin goes. He's got a pickax and some mining tools in a pack slung over his shoulder examining the hardened rock for any sign of the slime.]

So, since I know how my luck goes, what's the plan for when we free this thing and it immediately attacks us with the fury of a particularly cranky volcano?

AT THE FORGE - OPEN

[With the reconstruction from his rampage doing well, Darin's back at the forge doing what he loves. He might be down an apprentice, but that hasn't stopped him from taking orders and commissions from those who seek him out! Got something you want Darin to make? His consultations are always free so come on in! Got some gear that needs mending or ideas you want to pitch? Maybe you just need some work? Darin's door is always open! When you step in, you'll likely see him working on something or tidying the place up. If there's one thing Darin can't stand, it's a messy forge! So come on in and let's get to work!]

BAR CRAWL - CLOSED TO KATE

[It's been about a month since he tore through Camelot as a terrifying, familiar-fused monster. Barring his (and everyone else's jaunt) to Celliwig, Darin had largely avoided going into town. And when he did, he wore a cloak with a hood that concealed his hair.]

[Now, a month later and the reconstruction mostly complete, Darin is feeling a little more hopeful that maybe he won't be kicked out of town if he decides to hit a bar for a drink or two. He's still wearing his cloak, but when he settles in at the 'In For a Pound' pub, he slowly pulls his hood back to reveal his very obvious blue mane of hair. He gets a few looks, some of which he's not too thrilled with, but orders a drink and sits at the bar.]

[Unfortunately, the patrons on either side of him scoot away. Fortunately, that leaves space should anyone decide they want to pull up a stool and join him.]

MY DINNER WITH DARIN - CLOSED TO ALLURA

[So, it really only dawned on Darin about a day or so before the date that he and Allura had chosen for dinner that this might actually be a...you know. A date. In a panic, he considered calling her to clarify that this wasn't a date...but what if she wanted it to be a date? What if he tried to clarify and they called the whole thing off? That would be awful! And he'd feel terrible too! She was really looking forward to it! But did that mean she was looking forward to a date with him?]

[No, that couldn't be it.]

[Could it?]

[So, after spending a day laying on the floor and staring at the ceiling weighing his options, he decided that, you know what? He could do this! Even if it was a date! Hell, it was only a date! He could handle that! Even though he'd never been on a date before, much less with someone who was so strikingly beautiful and had spent the last six months worming her way into his every though— NOT IMPORTANT!]

[And so, it was the evening of the big-but-maybe-not date. He'd agonized over whether or not he should dress up and finally he decided on an off-white polo shirt with pink piping around the collar and sleeves (hey, pink goes good with blue, alright?), and some tan slacks. With a menu all set (he did promise it would be an amazing meal) he sets out to begin cooking, listening intently for the door to the forge to open so he could go up and greet her.]

[Everything was set for the evening. Nothing could possibly go wrong, right?]

[It's a relief to hear. After all his admissions about his fears... to say that after makes her truly believe that he means it.]

... so, let's lay back down, shall we? You can relax... I won't be going anywhere.

[Not until morning, but she declines to point that out. After all, she plans to support him for far longer.]

O-Okay...

[He lies back down and sighs.]

A-Alright...

... ... ...

Come over here.

[As she lays back, she beckons him with open arms — an invitation for him to rest his head on her chest, the same way she was resting on him earlier.]

R...Really...?

I-I mean...um...

[He looks both shy and embarrassed at the same time...and given what she's wearing...the gesture looks a lot more than just inviting.]

Yes, really.

It's very comfortable. I'm sure you'll sleep quite well...

....Y...You really think I'll be able to focus on sleep...?

What if I help you relax?

[Darin stares at her. It'll be alright, right? She said it would be okay...he said he trusted her...]

[She won't judge him...]

[Darin swallows the lump in his throat and rolls over towards her, stopping briefly to really take in how she's dressed. After all, Allura did say it was okay for him to look, right? So, he might as well enjoy the sight of her...]

[Whatever can be seen, at least, before he starts to lower his head to her waiting chest.]

[As he looks, he'll notice that beneath the shirt, she is wearing something... a chain of a necklace. It looks like she's already put on his gift, and is wearing it under the garment where it can hang against her skin, closer to her heart.]

[... of course, one such reason he might have only just noticed that is because she's idly undone the top button of the shirt. You know. Just in case it starts getting too warm with him resting on her, right~?]

[As he takes in the view, the slightest hint of her chest, the legs on full display... she reaches to the back of his head, starting to gently run her fingers through his hair.]

... ... ...

[He shivers slightly at her touch, but not out of nerves or fear. The gentle feeling of her fingers on his scalp makes jolt of electricity run down his spine. If she continues down the back of his head to the back of his neck, her fingers will edge along the raised ridge of the jagged scar that traverses his back.]

[His eyes naturally follow the line of the shirt's collar right down to where the necklace sits, though it's reasonable to assume he's looking at something else entirely. As she pulls him down, he cranes his neck to catch her lips in a kiss. He holds it for some time, completely unlike the quick, challenging kisses they shared before. This one is an admission of trust. And then, after a long few moments, he breaks the kiss only to kiss her again, lightly and eagerly, over and over with a little more heated urgency. He even tilts his head to kiss her neck a few times before finally lowering his head to her chest...where he'll place a soft kiss in the valley of her cleavage. Honestly, he could probably undo the next button of the shirt with his lips and while the idea does pass through his mind, he lets her finally pull his head down to her chest.]

[He doesn't say anything...though his mind is absolutely racing; marveling over how soft her chest is still firm...]

[Gods he can feel his heart racing and his face burning up.]

[She does feel that scar, and her fingers are drawn to it, particularly the edge where the texture changes from the rest of his skin, the same way it would be hard to look away from something unusual. She runs her fingertips along it, lightly, before asking in a low voice...]

... it's not uncomfortable when I touch it, is it...?

[Maybe he doesn't feel it. Maybe he's keenly aware of it. It's hard to tell, since she's never gotten so close and personal with human anatomy, never mind their scars. And she can feel him trembling, which might be directly because of the contact, or completely unrelated.]

[Probably unrelated, actually. Because, particularly as he starts to explore her chest, his lips brush against a sensitive spot and he draws a soft shudder out of her, one that he can feel bubbling up through her lungs.]

[Regardless of his answer, he'll feel her hand start to move to stroking his back. The only part that will change is what area she'll focus on.]

It...I feel it...

It's sensitive...not bad but...

[He attempts to swallow past the lump in his throat, unsure of what to do with himself. With his hands. For now, they're draped alongside both sides of her...but her touch is stimulating him and it's clear from the way he's fidgeting he wants to touch her in a similar way...]

[Thanks to the tank top, a little bit more of the scar is reachable than usual, but the largest area of the scar is down the center of his back under the fabric.]

How sensitive? Does it tickle?

[All right. If she needs to start exploring under the shirt, she will. And so he'll feel the fabric stretch back, away from his skin, and her fingers running down the length of his back, moving from side to side to cover more of the width.]

[As she reaches further and further, though, she's leaning forward away from the ground so that her arm can make it far enough. And by doing so, she inadvertently pushes her chest up towards him more.]

U-Uh...

[He needs a moment because there's...a lot suddenly on his mind...]

Not...tickle? It's..ngh...it feels good...

[This is a lot of stimulation all at once and he's shifting a bit.]

Do you want me to...um...take off my shirt...?

[There's a laugh in her voice, and he can surely feel it in her chest again — and the way her breasts bounce as a result.]

Are you all right? I thought you would be comfortable with this sort of contact...

[He pulls back a bit and she's treated to the sight of him peeling the tanktop off of his muscled torso.]

[She gapes openly as he undresses in front of her. Even having seen all this before... no, having gotten numerous good looks at him by this point... there was something different about seeing it in this context. In the low light of their surroundings, so close than she can feel the heat of his body, the smell of the sweat on his skin...]

... stimulating. [She clears her throat.] I can imagine. So... so I should continue, then?

[He's a little thankful she's not asking more about that...so he simply nods and places his head back down on her chest, practically draping over her from the chest down.]

[He's still unsure of what to do with his hands, so he finds himself gripping the bedding he's laid down on either side of her as she continues to trace the sensitive, oddly smooth skin of his scar.]

[He wonders how this was supposed to help him relax though. Not that it didn't feel good; the way he was shuddering and the soft sounds he was making into her chest were testaments to that. But considering where he was resting his head and the pleasurable feeling of her fingertips, he was feeling more wound up than relaxed.]

[Honestly, she did have a plan to help coax him to sleep... originally. But things have been derailed significantly, thanks to Darin letting his kisses stray to other spots. And the sounds he's making as she continues to stroke his back...]

[They might have to address some of this tension before either of them can sleep properly.]

[So, with her free hand, she lifts his head back up again — just enough that she can kiss him again, softly, enticingly. She's reached about as low as her hands can go, so she lets them wander to his side. Heading towards truly unknown territory...]

[He's a little surprised when she tilts his chin up to kiss him, but it's not an unwelcome surprise. After the way she was stroking his back, his face is more than flush, and her enticing kiss is met with one just as eager. One that he's reluctant to break as he pushes himself up a little further so that he can properly reach her.]

[In fact, he doesn't even want to break the kiss to speak. He only breaks the kiss to pepper her lips with more and more kisses, gentle but excited. And now that he's pushed himself up more, he can at least match her and put his hand on her side, lingering much like hers around her hip.]

[He could do this all night. It was warm but not stifling, with the slightest breeze fluttering into the canopy he'd made. Who needed sleep when he could kiss this beautiful woman all night?]

[She's kissing back — not quite in time with him, since she's still getting accustomed to his tempo, and so a few times he'll move and she'll end up kissing him somewhere odd like the corner of his mouth. But it's not disastrous either, and she even grows bold enough that she briefly sucks on his lip.]

[Meanwhile, she moves her hand again — this time with purpose, bringing close to his waistline. He'll feel that fabric start to stretch away as well, too, though only slightly as she starts to slide her fingertips underneath the waistband of his boxers...]

[But she holds it there for the moment, just to see if that makes him panic, or if he feels they need to stop.]

[For a moment, he does pause. His breath hitches. It's more out of surprise than panic, really. They had just spent the last few minutes kissing each other eagerly, and Allura had admitted to not being above something like this.]

[Honestly, it made him wonder if she had been physically attracted to him prior to this. If they both were physically aware of each other before they were mentally or emotionally.]

[It was thrilling, really, and so he lifts his hips a bit to give her a little more access. And since it seemed alright...]

[His hand slides up her side, hiking the shirt up well above her his, exposing her stomach and her panties...and then moves inward towards the first button keeping the shirt closed. Though, instead of going directly for the button, he moves his hand over her breast, gauging her own reaction...]

[It's not exactly obvious what's going through her head when she feels his hand touching her chest. For one thing, her mouth is otherwise occupied, so there's no words coming from her, and the small sound she makes when her breath catches in her throat isn't easily deciphered.]

[For another, there's a lot of thoughts going through her head. Most of them are excited, but some of them are anxious. They are certainly crossing new lines with this — given his history, she's confident he hasn't made this sort of contact before. Should she be telling him to stop? Urging him on? Should she really be reaching towards his waist so brazenly? As she weighs the doubt, she withdraws her hand, but only as far as bringing it up towards his abs.]

[... and she calms herself for the moment by thinking about how nice those abs actually are, and letting her fingertips memorize their form.]
